Scene News This Week: Popcorn, G-A-Y Homelessness Night, Fridays @ Her Upstairs

Popcorn at Heaven

The song says “I don’t like Mondays” but that’s because Bob Geldof and the Boomtown Rats didn’t know about Popcorn at Heaven. The award-winning weekly sensation has everything and more that you could want for a fantastic night on the town, including some of the best DJs in town such as Zach Burns, Jamie Hammond, Neroli, Adam Turner and more. You get amazing stage shows each and every Monday from Nadim and his team packed with beautiful performers and hot go-go boys, plus a mega friendly party crowd. Plus get yourself to the G-A-Y Bar and grab a free entry wristband – wahoo!

G-A-Y Clubbing for Homelessness

Next Saturday (11 Feb) G-A-Y presents Clubbing for Homelessness where instead of a door charge you can donate items the homeless really need, such as hot water bottles, socks, hats, scarves or cans of dog food for pets on the streets.

Fridays at Her Upstairs

This week Meth and her fabulous foster kids A$hlee Warchild, Cheryl Hole and Ophelia Love present Fridays at Her Upstairs with shows, specials guest and silly disco dancing. The madness launches on Friday (3 Feb) with Methie Dearest. We’ve been told to expect ‘a drag queen, a drunk, a mother’ and, we suspect, no wire hangers.

Have a White Swan weekend

This weekend there’s something for everyone at the White Swan in Limehouse. Friday (3 Feb) is the Klub Nite with DJ Aaran Bader and on Saturday the lovely Lola Lasagne takes to the stage. Sunday is the new look 3 of a Kind complete with Cosmic’s Bitchy Bingo, Vileda Moppe, karaoke and the amateur strip.

Mrs Moore at the Old Ship

If you want something calm and sedate then it’s probably best to avoid the Old Ship on Sunday (5 Feb) as John and the team welcome ‘the voice of a thousand fags’, the multi award-winning cabaret thoroughbred, Mrs Moore.
