7 Days: XXL Construction, Myra DuBois at the RVT and The Love of a Geisha at Popcorn

XXL Construction

If the thought of a sweaty, sexy builder banging away with his tools gets you hot under the collar then this Saturday (25 Mar) don’t dither, head straight to Pulse for XXL Construction. The bear super-club will be fit to bursting with blokes and hotties all gagging to work on your extension and sure up that erection. And the banging soundtrack will be provided by resident DJs Alex Logan, Paul Morrell, David Robson and Joe Egg. Get busy!

G-A-Y Porn Idol with Lady Bunny

Lady Bunny is the queen bee of American drag, as funny as she is inappropriate and we love her. This Thursday (23 Mar) she will be making a return visit to the judges’ sofa at G-A-Y Porn Idol, but be warned – the easily offended should stay away. If you want to strip for her then just send a message to 07789 553 868 or email [email protected].

Myra DuBois at the RVT

Lock up your sons, your wallets and the gin because this Sunday (26 Mar) South Yorkshire’s least celebrated daughter, the unquenchable Myra DuBois, is back at Sunday Social at the RVT. This one-woman masterclass in self delusion will be thrilling the crowd with witty banter and a tortured selection of torch songs. You have been warned…

Popcorn: The Love of a Geisha

Nadim and his beautiful collective are reaching back in time and to the Far East for their inspiration this Monday (27 Mar) at Popcorn: The Love of a Geisha. The centuries old Japanese tradition takes over the main stage at Heaven with stunning performances that will blow your mind. Plus there’ll be three rooms of the best DJs in town including the return of the brilliant Neroli.

Join the Lip Sync War

This weekend two of the capital’s finest cabaret venues, the Two Brewers on Friday (24 Mar) and Halfway II Heaven on Saturday (25 Mar), are waging war on each other when they join The National Lip Sync War. Each venue will choose a champion who will go forward to the semi-finals in April and hopefully the Grand Final in Birmingham where they could win £2,000! The whole contest is organised by Kelly Mild and she promises us that some top drag stars will also be taking part at each heat.

3 of a Kind at the Swan

If you haven’t checked out Sundays at the White Swan recently then we recommend a visit to 3 of a Kind as soon as possible. This Sunday (26 Mar) you get karaoke, Cosmic and her Prize Bingo, cabaret from Sandra and the Amateur Strip Competition, and it all kicks off at 5pm. But perhaps best of all, it’s free entry all evening too.

A Mild front at the G&D

If you fancy some fabulous musical cabaret this Sunday (26 Mar) then head to the George and Dragon where the illustrious Kelly Mild will be entertaining the troops from 9.30pm.

More Monologues

The Chemsex Monologues are back at the Kings Head Theatre in Islington in a run that lasts until 9 April. This hard-hitting but totally fascinating play by Patrick Cash lifts the lid on the chill out scene in a totally entertaining way. Tickets from kingsheadtheatre.com.
