Scene News this week: Pet Shop Boys at Brighton Pride, XXL St Patrick’s Day and Vileda Moppe at the White Swan

Pet Shop Boys at Brighton Pride

The gang at Brighton Pride have confirmed that pop legends the Pet Shop Boys will be headlining the main stage at Preston Park this year on Saturday 5 August. Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe are one of the most successful British pop bands of all time with classics such as West End Girls, It’s A Sin, Always on My Mind, Heart, Go West, Rent, Left to my Own Devices and many more. The duo will be playing a full live show at Pride and we recommend getting tickets right now, this minute, from Brighton-pride.org.

The luck of the Irish at XXL

Next Saturday (18 Mar) the gang at Pulse will be going a lovely shade of green as they celebrate XXL St Patrick’s Day. Not only is this always a great party night but it coincides with owner and promoter Mark Ames’ birthday too. Let’s party!

NADC is back at Her Upstairs

This Monday (13 Mar) Not Another Drag Competition is back at super hot Camden venue Her Upstairs, hosted by Meth – who else? The show starts at 8pm and runs every Monday until the Grand Final on Bank Holiday Monday 29 May.

Vileda Moppe at the White Swan

If you want some top notch cabaret then we urge you to visit the White Swan this Saturday (11 Mar) where last year’s Drag Idol champ, the extraordinary Vileda Moppe will be doing her thing. And as if that wasn’t enough to lure you to Limehouse then DJ Jason Prince will be on the decks and on hosting duties too.

Double the trouble at the Old Ship

This weekend John and the gang at the Old Ship have two bites of the cabaret cherry. The fun starts on Saturday (11 Mar) with scene legend Dave Lynn back at the Limehouse venue and the next day (Sunday 12 Mar) you get the glorious Davina Sparkle.
