Her Upstairs is the bright and shiny new cabaret hotspot in Camden that specialises in promoting exciting new talent and now comes complete with the funky club space Them Downstairs. As we’ve come to expect, they have a varied line up for the bank holiday weekend – here’s a peek behind the curtain.
The Coco Butter Club
Thursday 27 April, 5pm – 2am
The Coco Butter Club is a gorgeous celebration of queer performers of colour and this month’s event is hosted by The Phoenix with performances by Velvet Jones, Sum Ting Wong, Katy Jalili and Ebony_Rose_Dark. The show is followed by the FKA Afterparty until 2am.
Women Who Rock followed by Queer Bash
Friday 28 April, 5pm – late
Start your Friday night Upstairs with Meth, the Foster Kids and special guest Mynxie Monroe and their rock chick shows in Women in Rock from 9pm. This is then followed by hot new club night Queer Bash at Them Downstairs.
Holestar Does Disco followed by Pop
Saturday 29 April, 5pm – late
The lovely Holestar will be wrapping her silky vocal cords around some disco classics from 9pm (we’re hoping she’ll do MacArthur Park) and you can carry on the party at Them Downstairs at Pop where Holestar will be behind the decks giving us more musical treats.
Sunday Mass Extra
Sunday 30 April, 2pm – late
Sundays at Her Upstairs start with afternoon tea from Piab’s Vegan Junk, and is followed by the unholy holy mother Virgin Xtravaganza with special guests LoUis CYfer and Ruby Wednesday. The climax of the weekend is Disco Pulpit at Them Downstairs taking you through into Monday.
