Drag Idol Reporter at The Victoria: Saturday 29th April
Last week Drag Idol Reporter was at several venues and witnessed some great heats including those at Halfway II Heaven, the RVT and Central Station. Plus we have been hearing great things about heats all over the country including OMG Bristol where Bitchiana Biatch was the winner, Via in Manchester, Quay Pride in Yarmouth who had Lucy Lastic as winner of their second heat and more.
On Saturday we were at the Victoria in Walthamstow for the first heat final in London, and found ourselves surrounded by princesses and queens as Pixie and the gang had given the night a Disney theme. It was a great night hosted by Victoria Sponge with critiquing from the judges including venue owner Katie Roberts, opera performer and regular David Maxwell Anderson, plus our very own Dave Cross. They had four very different acts to choose from and eventually it was Polly Hardon who won and will now go on to represent the venue in the semi finals.
Over the next week there are more venues opening up their 2017 accounts including the Old Ship in Limehouse on Friday (5 May) and Her Upstairs in Camden on Tuesday (9 May), plus as we speak the Two Brewers is gearing up for their heats every Wednesday.
