Have an RVT weekend
If you want a truly varied weekend then head to the Royal Vauxhall Tavern. On Thursday (4 May) it’s the second heat of Drag Idol and on Friday (5 May) you get the marvellous LipSinkers. On Saturday afternoon there is a special screening of Uncle David 2 featuring an introduction by star David Hoyle from 1pm. Saturday night is Duckie and then drag superstar Charlie Hides is back at his spiritual home for Sunday Service.
Popcorn Pink
On Monday (8 May) Nadim and his blushing gang at Heaven will be celebrating the world’s most vibrant colour with the most vibrant of parties. Popcorn Pink will feature an abundance of the stuff, from stage production and balloon drops to confetti and much more. Plus DJ Fat Tony returns to the main room alongside Adam Turner and Voytek Kapi.
Revenge of the Fifth at Her Upstairs
Those cunning little Jedi at Her Upstairs always follow their own path to the dark side and this Friday (5 May) they are doing their own Star Wars celebration a day later than the rest of the galaxy. Revenge of the Fifth (see what they did there?) will see Darth Meth leading you away from the light side with the help of the Foster Kids and special guests Lilly Snatchdragon and Smashlyn Monroe. It’s followed by Queer Bash at Them Downstairs and we are promised that no Ewoks will be harmed.
