Halfway II Heaven: Friday 26 May
Our first scene rendezvous of the bank holiday weekend was a trip to the small but perfectly formed cabaret hub that is Halfway II Heaven.
We were there for First On Friday and got shows from two of the scene’s most beloved acts, with Lola Lasagne and Martha D’Arthur each taking to the hallowed stage. Both ladies were on fine form mixing up the snappy one-liners, funny stories and great songs with a healthy amount audience participation and total disrespect for any kind of authority. Halfway’s lovely leading lady Heather was on hand to keep us refreshed and, as always, we felt right at home.
