Scene News: The Two Brewers, Halfway II Heaven, Myra DuBois, Miss Hope Springs, RVT and more

Brewers Street Party

Make a date in your glittery cabaret diaries kids as this year’s Two Brewers Street Party will be on Saturday 1 July. That’s the day after the Drag Idol Final (Friday 30 June) if you want to make two dates and the winner will be just one of the acts taking part. Rocking the outside stage in the street by the side of the Clapham venue will be DE Experience, Sandra, Lola Lasagne, Mary Mac, Myra DuBois, CK, Son of a Tutu and many many more from midday until late.

Pride fundraiser at Halfway

On Sunday (11 Jun) afternoon the gang at Halfway II Heaven will be holding a fundraiser for Pride in London, hosted by CK with a gaggle of stars including Vileda Moppe, The Vixens, Chamonix Aspen, Dixie Delight and many more. Plus, as if that wasn’t enough the lovely Kelly Mild will be blowing out the candles on her birthday cake.

Miss Hope Springs on Tour

From next week the gorgeous Miss Hope Springs will be taking her sequins, grand piano and wonderful songs and stories on tour to promote her new album The Devil Made Me Do It. The first date on Friday 16 June is at the Wigmore Hall, Marylebone, W1 and is followed by more dates across the country. Get full details and tickets via misshopesprings.com

Myra DuBois at the Charing Cross Theatre

On Sunday 18 June the self declared ‘Siren of South Yorkshire’ Myra DuBois will be presenting her brand new show DuBois Entendre. Not only do we get Rotherham’s least celebrated daughter and her pithy observations and ‘glorious’ (her words not ours) songs, but she will also be supported in a very real sense by Frank Lavender. Get your tickets at charingcrosstheatre.co.uk.

RVT’s Got Talent

The gang at the RVT are on the look out for talent. They want acts to take part in this year’s The Tavern’s Got Talent on Thursday 24 August, which is part of the Oxjam fundraiser for Oxfam. Acts of every kind are welcome and they will be holding auditions soon. If you want to be considered just send an email with details to [email protected]
