Brighton Pride is only two weeks away. The big day is Saturday 5 August with the much loved Parade, the Pride Festival in Preston Park including the main stage with the Pet Shop Boys, Years & Years and many more, the infamous Wild Fruit dance tent, the Legends cabaret tent, men only spaces, girls tent, community spaces and much more. There’s also the Pleasure Gardens and Pride Village Party both happening in the town and a host of stunning official afterparties all weekend. Almighty Anthem at the RVT

Anthem Old Skool Reunion are throwing a special party to celebrate the work of legendary record label and remix team Almighty. An Almighty Night Out is at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern on Friday 11 August and will feature live performances by Belle Erskine and Jackie Rawe plus DJs Andy Almighty and Sean Sirrs, The first 100 through the door will get an exclusive free CD. Dunky delights

The Admiral Duncan is your cabaret treasure trove in the heart of Soho. This weekend you get Sandra on Friday (20 Jul), Mary Mac and Son of a Tutu on Friday, Vicki Vivacious and Tanya Hyde on Saturday and Baga Chipz will finish you off on Sunday. Marvellous.

Gingzilla at Her Upstairs

This weekend Her Upstairs kicks off on Thursday (20 Jul) with a full show from the mighty Gingzilla, the 7 foot glamazon who represented the Camden hotspot in this year’s Drag Idol contest. Friday sees Vinegar Strokes on stage and Saturday it’s Vanity Von Glow. Plus don’t forget the uber funky Them Downstairs with its cool club vibe.

Jimmy Smith wins special Pride award

In the build up to Pride in London Jimmy Smith manager of the Two Brewers was given a special award by Pride London Co-Chair Michael Salter-Church to recognise his outstanding support of the LGBT+ community in London over 25 years at an awards ceremony. Jimmy and the Brewers are also one of the six finalists in the hugely prestigious Great British Pub Awards contest which will be presented in September.
