Seven Days: XXL, Two Brewers, Ku Bar, The RVT and more

XXL Bear at Pulse

As we head into September it’s time to think of finding someone fun and furry to … cuddle with on those autumnal nights. Thankfully the guys at Pulse have it in hand, as this Saturday (2 Sep) is XXL Bear, which means you get to throw your best sexy shapes on those dancefloors while catching the eye of some bloke, hunk, hottie or, of course, bear. Music will be tip-top too with the A-Team DJ gang of Paul Morrell, Alex Logan, David Robson and Joe Egg.

Stars at the Two Brewers

The stars are always shining in Clapham, well at least the cabaret stars are if you go to the Two Brewers. Thursday night sees the Boyz Award-winning Jacqui Swallows on stage and Friday is Ruggercub with the one and only Danny Beard! Saturday night you can have a bite of Lola Lasagne and Sunday it’s the Power of Three with those kittens of mirth, Miss Jason, Mary Mac and Sandra. Wahoo!

Nieko’s party at Ku

We do love a good host and there’s none better than the always glamorous, always adorable Nieko at Ku. Over the past five years he has made us feel totally at home and often a tad tipsy as he has welcomed us to the Ku venues… in a selection of the most marvellous outfits, never has so much glitter or so many feathers been added to such skimpy shorts. This Sunday (3 Sep) he will be celebrating turning 25 and the fact that he’s taking a three month sabbatical with a bash at Ku Leicester Square featuring Jacqui Swallows, Vicki Vivacious and some special guests.

This weekend at the RVT

There’s another gorgeous selection box of treats on offer this weekend at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern. Thursday (31 Aug) has two performances of Royal Vauxhall and then on Friday it’s those wonderfully insane LipSinkers with the show followed by their pop club night. If it’s Saturday then it simply has to be Duckie and the weekend finishes at Sunday Social with the all conquering Myra DuBois making a welcome return after being exiled to Edinburgh for a month.

É Talon at Cirque le Soir

This Monday (4 Sep) there’s a hot new bitch of a show in town called É Talon at Cirque le Soir on Ganton Street, W1. This thrilling new show will feature five stunning sexy stallion dancers plus hosts and special guests and we are promised something really special. Tickets at etalontheshow.com

Cabaret at the G&D

Down in sunny Greenwich the one and only Duchess has another stonker of a weekend for us at the George and Dragon. Friday (1 Sep) sees Kelly Wilde making a welcome return and on Saturday it is the unquenchable Myra DuBois. As always there’s a bumper Sunday to finish the weekend with the triple threat of Myra, Mary Mac and Miss Jason.

Busy Bingo at the Welly

There’s a new game in town and it’s Busy Lady Bingo hosted by Australia’s biggest TV shopping star Sheila Simmonds at the Duke of Wellington every Tuesday. Kicking off at 8pm, it only costs 99p to play and you can win big prizes… when we say big we may mean cheap and tacky, but it’s not the winning it’s the hilarious Sheila that’s important.

Outlaws to In-laws

Outlaws to In-laws is a collection of seven short plays by some of our most celebrated gay writers and is on at the King’s Head Theatre until 23 September as part of their Queer Festival 17. The plays combine to tell stories from the 1950s to today about many aspects of gay life. Get tickets and details at kingsheadtheatre.com

Musicals at the Victoria

If you fancy a good ol’ sing-along then head to the Victoria in Walthamstow this Saturday (2 Sep) when Pixie presents A Night of Musical Theatre with the marvellous Canny Nice plus DJ Matt on the decks.
