Sunday Social and Retro Monday with the DE Experience

Sunday 27, 3pm – 3am and Monday 28 August, 3pm to midnight

It really wouldn’t be a bank holiday weekend without a trip to Sunday Social or Retro Monday and this weekend that shy, retiring flower the DE Experience is on at both, plus those amazing DJs. We asked Edna to tell us all about it: “Nothing makes a SLAG happier than a night in the arms of a hot, hilarious dame… except, of course, TWO NIGHTS! Yes, my lovelies, this bank holiday weekend I’m coming twice! My partner in cabaret crime, the awesome Simon Le Vans, and I will be snogging your senses with all we’ve got on the greatest stage in the world, my spiritual home, the stunning Royal Vauxhall Tavern. Bank Holiday Sunday’s theme is Reach Out And Touch – a chance for us to hold onto one another in love and as a community. Bank Holiday Monday finds us storming the stage again for You’ve Got A Friend – our tribute to those who have to fight to live and love as they want. We’re serving RVT loving realness in big beautiful belly laughs and I cannot wait to look into that sea of adorable smiles. I’m already so excited that I keep reaching out and touching people. Am I bad, darlings?

Love you. See you there. D E xxx”.

The GMFA/RVT Sports Day

Bank Holiday Monday 28 August, from 1.45pm

The GMFA/RVT Sports Day is one of the best days of the year on the LGBT scene and it takes place in the Pleasure Gardens next to the RVT. Teams of every kind imaginable get together to compete in a bizarre series of events including ones you haven’t done since school and new ones such as the 50m Sissy that Walk and it’s all to raise cash for GMFA. Following the madness it’s all inside for Retro Monday with DE Experience including an auction to raise more cash. Get more info on this at gmfa.org.uk/sportsday
