Sink the Pink will present all-singing, badly-dancing choir The Merry Marys, Little Gay Brother brings you superstar DJs and drag queens on treadmills in their Christmas sesh and there’re also Festive Moments from London’s finest drag-circus-burlesque club night, Mariah & Friendz. Beard Aid at the RVT
South Yorkshire siren Myra DuBois and the BeefMince boys are back at the RVT for another close shave for charity on Thursday 9 November. Raising money for GMFA and THT, expect a gaggle of bears take to the stage to have their rugged man beards cut down to 5 o’clock shadows all in the name of fundraising. Scary Marys at The Victoria
Walthamstow hotspot The Victoria presents its ‘Get Your Freak On’ Halloween fancy dress party this Saturday (28 Oct) from 9pm, with a £50 cash prize awarded to the best dressed ghoul in the house. Mistress of evil Martha D’Arthur will be on stage at midnight and DJ Matt keeps the party going until 3am.
Queers in Conversation at Foyles
Join writers Mark Gatiss, Jackie Clune and Brian Fillis in the Auditorium at Foyles, Level 6, 107 Charing Cross Road, this Monday (30 Oct) where they will be in conversation with arts journalist David Benedict about the highly acclaimed BBC TV series Queers, broadcast on BBC Four earlier this year. Heroes at The Backstreet
Heroes is the monthly event for guys into skintight gear and it’s back at The Backstreet next Saturday (4 Nov) from 6pm. The dress code is strict: Lycra is the most popular choice but anything tight is fine, from rubber to wetsuits and cycling kit. Entry is £5 on the door and the party runs until 10pm.
A Revolution in Sexual Politics
As part of the London Song Festival’s 10th anniversary, which is running through October to December, there is a concert called A Revolution in Sexual Politics on this Friday (27 Oct) evening, which deals with the partial decriminalisation of homosexuality in England and Wales in 1967. What’s more, next Saturday (4 Nov), Boyz favourite Miss Hope Springs hosts an afternoon tea. All the concerts take place at Hinde Street Methodist Church, 19 Thayer Street, W1U 2QJ, and begin at 7.15pm for Friday evening concerts, and 2pm for Saturday concerts.
