Seven Days: XXL, The Two Brewers, The RVT, Ku Klub and more

XXL Rugby with Pagano

On Saturday night (25 Nov) get out those tight white shorts and prepare to be thrown to the floor in a scrum of delicious bears. As if that wasn’t reason enough to be at Pulse for XXL Rugby the other news is that our favourite Italian dish (sorry Nigella) DJ Pagano will be at the decks along with that winning team of residents. Result!

Winterville

Winterville is London’s stunning alternative festive experience and it’s open now on Clapham Common until 1st January. There’s amazing performances and shows from the likes of Sink the Pink and Little Gay Brother plus a funfair, bars, an ice rink, a cinema, roller disco and loads of food stalls. It’s free entry every day except Friday and Saturday and is so worth a visit.

Cabaret at the Two Brewers

This weekend kicks off on Thursday (23 Nov) if you are at the Two Brewers because they have the one and only Lola Lasagne on that hallowed stage. Friday is the fab Lady Diamond and on Saturday things get icy when Tanya Hyde turns up the heat. The weekend finishes on Sunday (26 Nov) with their annual World AIDS Day fundraiser with Wandsworth LGBT Forum for the Oasis Centre.

Polari’s 10th Anniversary

This Friday (24 Nov) Paul Burston and his team will be ending the Polari UK tour with a special event at the Royal Festival Hall to mark their 10th anniversary. Speakers will include Jonathan Harvey, Topher Campbell, J Fergus Evans, Alexis Gregory and Carey Wood plus we suspect Paul may be tempted to add his own dash of style and colour. Tickets and information at southbankcentre.co.uk.

This weekend at The RVT

Diversity is a way of life at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern and as usual they have an unusual mix of gorgeous events this weekend. Thursday (23 Nov) is Butch Please! A night for lesbians and their friends of all genders while Friday is Push The Button and their Fenty Christmas Party, you can expect snow machines and the works. Saturday is Duckie with guests Katy Baird and Joshua Hubbard and then at Sunday Social it’s the quiet and demure Myra DuBois.

Get down at Klub

You never know when the need for a night of late night dancing surrounded by hot guys will strike. Thankfully those cool folk at Ku Leicester Square have it in hand because the funky Klub, downstairs at the Lisle Street venue, is open late every day with a fantastic selection of DJs. Get in there, you know you want to.

The Red Run

This Sunday (26 Nov) is the annual Red Run World AIDS Day fundraiser organised by Positive East which benefits 28 HIV charities. It’s at Victoria Park and national treasure Dame Barbara Windsor will be cutting the ribbon at the start at about 12.15pm. Get details at redrun.org.uk

U OK Hun?

If you want want unicorns in a disco, and quite frankly who doesn’t? Then this Saturday (25 Nov) head to Eagle London for U OK Hun? We are promised drag acts, celebrity tantrums, DJs playing filthy house and disco plus the aforementioned unicorns. Magic.
