With an O2 packed to the rafters with loyal hard core fans Miss Carey presented a show that combined festive fun, predictable schmaltz and was totally fabulous cementing her as the Queen of Christmas. Dressed in a gold gown that completely emphasised her curves she delivered her Christmas songbook – lifting tracks off her own two Christmas themed albums with traditional carols. A real highlight being the opening number of a rousing rendition of Hark The Herald Angels Sing and Joy To The World which you could tell was a very emotional song for her to perform.
Her world famous pitch and five octave range did not let her down with the audience reacting accordingly by standing and cheering. Finishing the almost two hour show with three of her most memorable hits: Emotions, We Belong Together and Hero, Mariah did not disappoint.
This was a very special evening and when she brought her own children on stage to sing with her, this only proved what Christmas as a means to her. The fans that had come to see this remarkable singer found she is still vocally magnificent. Pure glamour. The finale was as to be expected incredible as Mariah performed the the title of the show – All I Want For Christmas Is You – which just took the roof of the venue.
