Brighton Pride confirm  Britney and Chic

Tickets for this year’s Brighton Pride festival are already on sale and right now you can get some great early bird prices. And this week the team in Brighton have confirmed that, none other than US superstar Britney Spears  will be headlining the massive Saturday (4 Aug) event in Preston Park. Excitingly there’s now a brand new Sunday event called LoveBN1Fest – Sunday In The Park With Pride on Sunday 5 August and none other than Chic featuring Nile Rodgers will be headlining with hits such as Good Times, Le Freak, I Want Your Love and more, plus versions of hits they produced for David Bowie, Diana Ross, Sister Sledge, Duran Duran, Madonna and more. Lip Sync War 

Next weekend sees three of our favourite venues, the Two Brewers, Halfway II Heaven and the Admiral Duncan, joining with bars all over the UK for the Lip Sync War. The heats are at the Two Brewers on Friday (2 Feb), Halfway on Saturday (3 Feb) and the Dunky on Sunday (4 Feb). Each venue will put entrants through and eventually at the Grand Final someone will win a whopping £2500. If you want to enter, just contact the venues direct via their Facebook pages.

Cancer is a Drag at the RVT

Next Thursday (1 Feb) the team from Cancer is a Drag, the charity that uses drag and cabaret to raise much needed cash for people with cancer, are back at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern. Divalicious will feature the original transatlantic dame Charlie Hides plus Mrs Moore, Vanity Nightmare and more including host Doctor Woof. Get your tickets at vauxhalltavern.com.

Pride’s Got Talent heats

This Monday (29 Jan) is the first heat of this year’s mega talent search Pride’s Got Talent and it’s at the Two Brewers in Clapham. We guarantee this will be a great, fun night packed out with exciting performers of every kind you can imagine and maybe some that you can’t! Doors open at 6pm. New chemsex clinic in Camberwell 

Based at the Camberwell Sexual Health Service, The Axis Clinic is a collaboration between the Antidote LGBT drug & alcohol service, working through the RISE Partnership, with Kings College Hospital sexual health and HIV support team; the HIV mental health liaison team from South London and Maudsley; and the After Party chemsex outreach team.The Axis Clinic has been created to provide support mostly for men who have sex with men. Support is offered through a range of interventions aimed at supporting clients to achieve more positive outcomes in relation to HIV prevention and management, sexual health, mental health and substance (mis) use.
