Sunday roast by the seaside: Legends Sunday lunch reviewed by Stephen Vowles

The very British tradition of enjoying a Sunday roast has stood the test of time and so it should. I can’t think of anything better than arriving at a restaurant to the cooking aroma of roast potatoes and topside of beef – and there is no better way to get your taste buds going.

The Sunday roast served at Legends in Brighton has quickly become an institution and you can understand why; very generous portions, beautifully presented, and I like the fact that the gravy is served on the side so it’s not drowning the meat. Further options include pork, chicken and lamb and the venue’s vegetarian option. There is something for every discerning palate.

The Sunday roast lunches are served between 12 noon and 3pm and they are followed by cabaret at 3.30pm. Legends offers fantastic value for money at £10 per portion and the option to add dessert at £3.95, with something different every week; we had berry crumble and custard. Totally scrumptious!

If you find yourself in Brighton and you need to find a place for Sunday lunch, Legends is the place – and in my humble opinion you will not find better.
