The Light Lounge is the uber sophisticated cocktail bar above Ku Bar Leicester Square and is also one of our personal favourite spaces to chill out after a long day in the office. It always surprises us with its seasonal menus and this Easter weekend it will be serving up both cool drinks and cool beats. Light Lounge Manager Peter explains more.
Hi Peter, how did you come to be part of the Ku Group?
Hi Boyz! I’ve been working with the Ku Group for about three years now, when the Light Lounge was first being built into the space it is now.
How are you planning to make your mark on Light Lounge?
The Light Lounge gave us a great opportunity to really offer something different, unique and special in the area. The space itself is incredibly sophisticated and premium with an avant garde hotel bar feel. We wanted the vibe to reflect a mix of a New York wine bar as well as the attitude-free, liberating, social feel of Ku with, of course, the best cocktails in town. And I think we’ve got there!
Happy Hour is our favourite time of day and the Light Lounge has three-hour-long happy hours every day, doesn’t it?
Yes it does! Happy Hour runs until 8pm daily (we open at 5pm during the week, 4pm on weekends). Our Happy Hour means you can enjoy a range of specially selected cocktails on a 2-4-£10 offer! EVERY DAY!
Cocktails change seasonally too, don’t they? What have you got coming up this spring/summer?
Our entire cocktail menu is created in-house. We listen to what our customers’ favourites are, what new tastes are becoming available, and, of course, which season is approaching. All this means a complete range of bespoke cocktails tailored to the tastes of your night out. BUT, our cocktail bar staff are able to make anything you want, so if you fancy an old time classic cosmo, just ask. And I don’t want to give too much away of the SS menu just yet, but simply expect everything your taste buds could need, from bubbly, to palatial fruit, sourz, to beach feeling mixes.
The Light Lounge is a relaxing place to chill out on weekdays, but at weekends it offers a great party atmosphere. Which DJs can we expect to see over the next few weeks/months?
Our weekend soundtrack is played on rotation by our resident DJs including Tom Fox, Elle, Louis Lawrence and Ryan Hurley. And this Easter weekend, Louis and Ryan will be on the decks.
Remind us of your opening times…
Our usual opening times are: Monday to Thursday 5pm until 11.30pm, Friday and Saturday it’s 4pm until midnight, and Sunday it’s 4pm until 10.30pm. BUT, every first weekend of the month (Friday and Saturday) we stay open until 3am with a full service of cocktails, wines and spirits right until the end!

And finally, what can we expect at the Light Lounge this Easter weekend?
We’re excited to invite Soho, Leicester Square, Chinatown and the West End to our boutique cocktail lounge that will certainly have the atmosphere of Easter frivolity in the air. Expect second-to-none service from our team of waitresses who will bring our exclusive range of bespoke cocktails right to your table. Our DJs will play your soundtrack while you bask in the ever-changing lights of the venue, and take in a view of the busy West End atmosphere. Is there any other way to do Easter?
