It’s all go this bank holiday weekend in Vauxhall at the gorgeous Royal Vauxhall Tavern with everything you could want from a queer space, including clubs, cabaret and Drag Idol. Here’s a sneaky peek at some of the treats in store.
Drag Idol Heat One
Thursday 3 May, 7pm – midnight
The RVT actually won Drag Idol 2017 with the outrageous Tracy Barlow and this Thursday they open their 2018 account. Hosted by the gorgeous Michael Twaits, this will be a fantastic showcase for new talent.
The LipSinkers
Friday 4 May, 9pm – 4am
If the LipSinkers are in town then it means laughs, tunes and more laughs as this chaotic and fabulous troupe mix up shows and clubbing fun. This Friday we are promised some Eurovision fun with just a taste of ABBA followed by DJ David Robson.
Duckie
Saturday 5 May, 9pm – 2am
If you want some totes queer fun on a Saturday night – and honestly who the hell doesn’t? – then head to Duckie at The RVT, which will be packed with boys, girls and every kind of amazing creature you can imagine. The music is the finest pop and comes from The Readers Wifes, plus there will be performances and your host is none other than Amy Lamé.
Sunday Social with The DE Experience
Sunday 6 May, 3pm – 3am
It’s bank holiday Sunday, which means we get an extended session of Sunday Social packed with brilliant music and more laughs than you can shake a stick at. The laughs, and some of the music, come of course from The DE Experience, with that razor sharp wit and the voice of an angel. The tunes come from the amazing RVT DJs including Simon Le Vans, Andy Almighty, Liam Chaplin, and Sean Sirrs.
Anthem Old Skool Reunion – Retro Monday
Bank Holiday Monday, 3pm – midnight
This weekend we are spoilt by a second and even more delicious bite of the Edna cherry when The DE Experience returns for Retro Monday with more laughs, songs and hot DJs.
