Have you heard about the new Pride craze? Brighton Pride, Friday 3 – Sunday 5 August

Brighton Pride has been going from strength to strength these last few years and this August the team is hosting a huge three-day festival starring an absolute ton of world-class acts, including Britney Spears on Saturday plus Jess Glynne, Nile Rodgers and his iconic disco group Chic on Sunday! Here’s all you need to know and how to book those all-important tickets.

Friday 3 August

Returning for its third consecutive year, the Pride Pleasure Gardens is the place to be to get your Brighton Pride weekend off to a cracking start on Friday, when Boogaloo Stu hosts a few rounds of his outrageous bingo.

Next up – and fresh from their sold out show at the Soho Theatre – London’s premier drag king troupe, Pecs, the all-female/non-binary theatre and cabaret company, will storm their way into Brighton Pride with some of their greatest hits. And rounding off your Friday night shenanigans, the Official Pre-Pride Warm Up Party promises a glam-tastic explosion of pop and commercial dance music from 10pm until 2am And it’s FREE entry!

Saturday 4 August

The big day itself sees all the fun and celebrations of the Parade, which assembles on Hove Lawns before making its way along the seafront for a crowd of over 300,000 spectators before heading up to Preston Park.

Once you’re inside the Pride Festival On The Park, you’ll be treated to performances from Ella Eyre, Pixie Lott, MNEK, Mabel, Louise and many more, plus entertainment from the Legends Cabaret Big Top, the Pride Dance Big Top hosted Little Gay Brother, and the whole day is topped off by THE ACTUAL Britney Spears headlining on the main stage with her glittering full Vegas show, Piece Of Me.

Sunday 5 August

If you think the fun ends on Saturday then you’re in for a HUGE surprise because this year – in a Brighton Pride first – Sunday sees a brand new Pride festival back at Preston Park in the form of LoveBN1Fest.

Headlining the main stage is the legendary Grammy-winning composer, producer, arranger, guitarist Nile Rodgers and his multi-platinum selling band Chic.

But that’s not all: you also get Grammy Award winning number one selling artist Jess Glynne, double BRIT Award winner Gabrielle, up-and-coming star Raye, the amazing House Gospel Choir and many more. And that’s without all the family fun and entertainment in store from Circus Project, Circo Rum Ba Ba and BubbleJo, plus the Guilty Pleasures Dance Tent, the BN1 Love Disco Tent and BIMM Live Music Stage.

Meanwhile, back in the Pride Pleasure Gardens, Sunday starts with an invitation to grab your dancing shoes for an afternoon of LGBTQ+ Community Line Dancing. The reins will then be handed over to London’s The Glory who will serve up wild west realness with their all-day Big Gay Barn Dance party. A day in three parts, first up you get The Glory’s very own landlady and drag legend John Sizzle, who presents his dream team of London’s hottest drag sensations to line-dance, spin country-inspired music and perform live. Next up there’s an iconic Madonna cabaret special featuring Madonna’s greatest hits reworked and reimagined in a Vogue-tastic two-hour homage to the undisputed queen of pop. And finally, your glorious Brighton Pride weekend will draw to a close with an apoca-lip-stick queer anthem party – one final chance to dance to all the gay bangers that have brought joy to our community. Book Monday off work.
