Peter Pansexual at Her Upstairs
It’s June, so what could be better than a summer panto at Her Upstairs? Peter Pansexual, written by Gareth Joyner (the man who stands just behind Myra DuBois), opens at the Camden venue on Friday 29 June and runs for a week. Judy’s Back at the Hippodrome
Next Friday (22 Jun) there’s a special one-off performance of Judy’s Back by Ray Rackham at the London Hippodrome on Leicester Square. This will be a concert version of the critically acclaimed biographical musical about the life of iconic movie star and chanteuse, Judy Garland. This date is the anniversary of Garland’s death too, and this show is at the London Hippodrome, where the singer played her final London concerts. This show will feature three actresses playing the star and will includes songs such as The Trolley Song, The Man That Got Away and, of course, Over The Rainbow. The Happy Prince opens this weekend
The Happy Prince is Rupert Everett’s dramatisation of the final tragic years of Oscar Wilde’s life and opens in cinemas this Friday (15 Jun). Rupert plays Wilde with passion and genuine conviction and the film also stars Colin Firth, Colin Morgan, Emily Watson and Tom Wilkinson. Built around the infamous life of Oscar Wilde, this is a fantastic and beautifully shot film that deserves to be a smash hit.
Lavender Nights
Lavender Nights is a ‘relaxed soiree’ for all LGBT+ people and their friends, where they can dance, chat, drink and mingle at Vout-O-Reenee’s at 30 Prescott Street, E1 from 7pm, next Friday (22 Jun). It’s a beautiful and quirky venue with a great dancefloor and seating, perfect for when their DJs – Gareth Hackmey, Suzi Tunes and Joe Pop – play their sets of pop classics and retro gems.
