Pride in London

Pride In London 2018 photos from the Parade

Last Saturday the good, the naughty, the boys, the girls, the trans, the gender non-specific, the queers, the allies and the sun all came out in spectacular style for Pride in London 2018.

We started with the Parade just down from Oxford Circus and despite the start being interrupted by an anti trans protest, which upset a huge amount of people, once the Parade started moving nothing could dampen the joyful spirit of the hundreds talking part or the thousands watching. More people than ever were involved covering all kinds of groups and companies including community and political, sports, health, fetish, corporates, bars, clubs and many more.

We headed to the Trafalgar Square Main Stage in time to see host Michael Twaits introduce the cast of Grindr: The Opera from Above The Stag, plus Son of a Tutu, Sum Ting Wong, the Board of Pride in London and Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan. The crowd and us were treated to a host of musical talent from Pride’s Got Talent plus speeches from Peter Tatchell and more, and hits from the likes of Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Alexandra Burke, as well as Courtney Act, Alyssa Edwards, Felix Le Freak and so much more.

We spent the rest of the evening in Soho and the gorgeous bars, being served by happy smiling bar staff – max points to all of them – and being entertained by the brilliant cabaret stars and DJs London is home to 52 weeks a year, all giving that extra rainbow glitter and sparkle.

We had a brilliant day. Well done to the organisers, the hundreds of volunteers, the police and everyone involved or working on the day.
We salute you all.
