Seven Days

Seven Days: IOW Pride, XXL, George and Dragon, The RVT and more

Isle of Wight Pride

This Saturday (21 Jul) the second annual Isle of Wight Pride happens on the sun drenched island just off the South Coast. The fun starts as soon as you step off the ferry with a parachute display at 11am followed by the Parade at midday. The main event is on Ryde Harbour Beach and will have a funfair, stalls and different stages with loads of acts of all different kinds including a performance by Conchita Wurst. Last year’s event was loads of fun and this looks like being even better. Go to the website at iwpride.org for more details including how easy it is to get from London to the island.

XXL Lumberjack

Picture this: it’s Saturday night, and you’re in a hot, dark place surrounded by frisky bears and wood. The only thing to do is get out your chopper and shout ‘Timber!’ This Saturday (21 Jul) all this and more will come true at Pulse as it’s XXL Lumberjack when DJ Fat Tony is back alongside residents Paul Morrell, Alex Logan, David Robson and Joe Egg to keep the blokes, bears and hotties dancing.

Cabaret in Greenwich

We love the George and Dragon in Greenwich where The Duchess and her minions always have something fun on offer. This weekend it all kicks off with Martha D’Arthur on Friday (20 Jul) and carries on with soul music due on Saturday. On Sunday you get three bundles of joy with Dave Lynn, Mary Mac and Miss Jason all bringing the mirth and music.

It’s all happening at The RVT

As always it’s a glorious mixed buffet of tasty treats at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern this weekend. It starts on Thursday (19 Jul) with the return of Dusty Limits with his cabaret show, Life and I, which is also the launch of his new album. On Friday there’s two events, starting at 7pm with Barbara Brownskirt previewing her Edinburgh show Who Do You Think You Are? And that’s followed at 10pm by the sexy dudes and cheeky chaps at Beefmince for beary clubbing fun. Saturday is, of course, the glorious Duckie and at Sunday Social it’s the one and only Myra DuBois.
