UK Black Pride: Sunday 8 July
If there was a better way to end the Pride weekend than spending last Sunday afternoon at UK Black Pride then we don’t care what it is because we had the best time.
Taking over the Vauxhall Pleasure Gardens, this was an uplifting celebration of what it means to be black and LGBT. The sun shone and thousands of people of every colour and gender you can imagine or wish for partied the day away into the evening. There was live entertainment and speeches on the main stage, community, health and political groups, discussions and much more. It felt like Prides did in the 80s and 90s, a community coming together to protest and to celebrate. Congratulations to Lady Phyll, Sadie and the whole team. What a brilliant day.
