London Scene News: Hazell Dean celebrates two decades of the George and Dragon

Next weekend The Duchess and her team of minions and elves at the George and Dragon will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of the much loved Greenwich cabaret hot spot. As always there will be a whole weekend of amazing acts to keep us entertained, but on Friday (31 Aug) they will be welcoming back the brilliant Hazell Dean for a special show. If you love 80s dance classics then this is the night for you as Hazell will perform hits such as Who’s Leaving Who, Searching, Whatever I Do, Turn It Into Love, Maybe and more. 

Oasis jumble sale at the Brewers

We all love a jumble sale and next Sunday (2 Sep) the gang at the Two Brewers and the Gay Men’s Dance Company are hosting a big one to raise money for Wandsworth Oasis. You can bring stuff to donate or just spend the afternoon from 2pm browsing and buying clothes, toys, bric-a-brac, books and much more.

Savage at Metropolis  

Savage is the fuel-injected Saturday night party mix of disco and house at Metropolis, E2, and they regularly welcome guest DJs such as HiFi Sean, Severino, Jeffrey Hinton and more. BritBears at The RVT

BritBears is the UK’s newest and hairiest community social group and next Thursday (30 Aug) they are taking over the Royal Vauxhall Tavern for their first film and social night. You can help decide which film is going to be shown by heading to their Facebook page, BritBearsLDN, and you can become a member at britbears.org where members get in for free on Thursday, while guests are just £2. 

Sweatbox’s Million Pound Makeover

The Boyz Award-winning gym and sauna Sweatbox is closed, but fear not, because it’s just the calm before the gorgeous, sweaty, sexy storm. The West End venue is undergoing a major refit that they are calling the Million Pound Makeover and is due to reopen in November.
