Seven Days: XXL, Ku Bar, G&D, Positive East and more bank holiday parties

XXL Construction

It’s August bank holiday weekend, the last bank holiday until Christmas and traditionally a stonker of a party weekend – and smack bang in the middle of it is XXL Construction at Pulse. The London Bridge super-venue will be packed with bears, blokes and hunks all yelling ‘Yes we can’ as they grab their tools and party till dawn. S’ee you on the dancefloor.

Get to Ku this weekend

No matter what the weather’s like we guarantee it will be super hot all weekend at all the Ku venues. Whichever you choose – Ku Leicester Square with Klub below and Light Lounge above, or maybe the small but perfectly formed Ku Soho – they will all be open late and packed with hotness, cold drinks and cool tunes. Plus don’t forget the beautiful She Soho for our sisters on Old Compton Street.

The Duchess knows how to have a good time, she’s the original good time girl and this weekend she’s got loads of top talent at the George and Dragon in Greenwich. Friday (24 Aug) sees the hilarious Lola Lasagne taking to the stage while Saturday sees Eva Iglesias, the Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalist belting out the hits. And on Sunday you get three of the UK’s finest when Mary Mac, Miss Jason and Tony Sinclair bring the laughs.

This Saturday (25 Aug) the gang at the White Swan in Limehouse will be celebrating a whopping 33 years of rocking our world with a massive birthday party. Hosted by that quiet and demure flower, Saucy Sophie, you also get a performance by the extraordinary Felix Le Freak, winner of this year’s Drag Idol, plus tunes from DJs FKA and Stevie Tee.

For the bank holiday weekend John and his team at the Old Ship in Limehouse have some brilliant cabaret lined up. And as it’s bank holiday Monday we get an extra slice this weekend when the fabulous Miss Ross takes to the stage on Monday at 8.30pm.
