As an ensemble these guys are tight and play off each other with such ease it is very easy to understand why Glamor La Denim, Aphrodite Greene, Crystal Vaginova, Elektra Cute and Shirley DuNaughty have become the cabaret successes they are. Denim are provocative, throw any idea of being PC to the wind and discuss religious fanaticism and fundamentalism, sex abuse, eating disorders, body shape shaming, with an informed opinion that is actually hard to disagree with. This time supported by a three piece band, these ladies know their craft and when each of them had their individual moment in the spotlight this added to the magic of a sixty minute whirlwind of witty, at times totally risqué, material. Trashy and scintillating stuff. This is not to everyone’s taste but this all singing, all dancing queer pop girl band for this modern age got their laughs and rightly so.
