No Kids: Battersea Arts Centre, Tuesday 5 to Saturday 23 February

No Kids is written, directed and performed by George Mann and Nir Paldi and is at the Battersea Arts Centre in February as part of a national tour. In this competing piece real life couple George and Nic ask a question that many of us face, as a gay couple should they have children?

As they stage their discussions around if, when and how to have children, every consideration – adoption, surrogacy, co-parenting, the environmental impact of childbirth – brings with it a succession of ethical challenges. All set to a lively Madonna soundtrack, the couple veer between memories of their past and visions of their future as they consider who their child might become and how their own childhoods will affect their parenting. This is an energetic and provoking piece of physical theatre that was a hit at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
