CK 11 at Halfway II Heaven

There’s nowhere quite like CK Sunday at Halfway II Heaven, it’s like a bonkers family Sunday with added songs, shots and gorgeous frocks. This Sunday (10 Mar) Crystal and Kelly will be celebrating 11 years of crazy with a very special afternoon of fun that includes their annual awards, a champagne reception to start and a host of special guests. It all kicks off at 3pm and we recommend booking Monday off work.

More drag at The White Swan

There’s loads of fantastic stuff coming up at The White Swan in Limehouse to add to their already busy schedule. Starting on Wednesday 27 March is Chanel’s Drag Easy, when hot newcomer Chanel No5 invites lip-sync and live drag queens to the stage, plus Miss Ross will be hosting a new Bona Bingo night  soon and the team from gorgeous club night You OK Hun? are coming to the Swan in April. Watch Circa at the Old Red Lion

Circa is the debut play from Tom Radcliffe and you can see it right now until 30 March at The Old Red Lion Theatre, EC1. Circa explores the blurred identity of the gay relationship in the modern age. Following the story of one man’s romantic life, we are taken through the different relationships and encounters he experiences over a period of thirty years. Fanny Coil at Sundowners

This Saturday you can experience the delights of the quiet and demure cabaret star that is Miss Fanny Coil when she takes to the stage at Sundowners in Margate. She will be on stage at 11pm and the club is open until 3am. Wahoo!

Jinkx is back in town

The glorious Jinkx Monsoon and her partner in crime Major Scales are back in London from Tuesday (12 Mar) at the Leicester Square Theatre with their new show The Ginger Snapped. Tickets at leicestersquaretheatre.com

Your Brewers’ weekend

There’s another bumper weekend ahead at the Clapham cabaret mothership that we call The Two Brewers. The sparkle starts on Thursday (7 Mar) with the Boyz Award-winning Lola Lasagne and DJ Liam Chaplin, Miss Penny provides the cabaret on Friday while in the Club Bar it’s DJ Phil Marriott. On Saturday you get double trouble with CK aka Crystal and Kelly plus DJs Demon and Chris Brogan and then on Sunday it’s The Power of Three with Miss Jason, Mary Mac and the one and only Sandra. 

Check out Little Ku

Those frisky boys and girls at Ku scooped a clutch of golds at the Boyz Awards this year for Best Bar, Best Bar staff and Best Host, for the lovely Stefanos. Don’t forget it’s not all about the big Lisle Street venue, you also have the small but perfect (sounds like Nieko) Little Ku on Frith Street in Soho. Delicious drinks, yummy boys and cool sounds. Count us in.

 

Edward II and After Edward

Right now you can treat yourself to a stunning production of Christopher Marlowe’s Edward II at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse, which is part of Shakespeare’s Globe. And it’s followed immediately on 21 March by After Edward a new play featuring the same cast by Tom Stuart, who plays the title role in both plays, which explores the queer politics raised in Marlowe’s classic. Experience The Piano Bar at The G&D

As always there’s an amazing cabaret line-up ahead at the George and Dragon. This weekend you get, Sandra, Lola Lasagne, Tanya Hyde, Tony Sinclair and someone called the Duchess. It all kicks off with one of our favourite nights, the Piano Bar on Thursday (7 Mar) with Ian Parker on the ivories and the lush Crystal D’Canter on vocals. Lovely.

Lola’s at The Yard Coventry

Friday night was made for laughing… well at least it is at The Yard in Coventry as it’s their big cabaret night. This Friday
(8 Mar) it’s Lola Lasagne and next Friday it’s another Boyz Award-Winner, KY Kelly.

RVT highlights

It’s another smorgasbord of treats on offer this weekend at The Boyz Award-winning Royal Vauxhall Tavern. It starts early in Thursday (7 Mar) with David Hoyle and his Camp Laff show including special guest Ursula Martinez followed on Friday by Frankie Goes to Vauxhall. Saturday is, obviously the mighty Duckie complete with Reader’s Wifes, Amy Lamé, Jay Cloth and special guests. The weekend reaches a climax on Sunday and this weekend it’s got more than a hint of tartan as the cabaret comes from the gorgeous Mary Mac.

Undetectable at The King’s Head Theatre

Undetectable which opens at The King’s Head Theatre on Wednesday (13 Mar) is a love story for the post-chemsex generation. This brilliant play that explores the demons we take to bed with us is written by Tom Wright and directed by Rikki Beadle-Blair. Tickets from kingsheadtheatre.com

Pride’s Got Talent heats

This week there are three more heats of Pride’s Got Talent starting on Sunday (10 Mar) with a music heat at She Soho on Old Compton Street and then another music one the next day, Monday at The Two Brewers. The next cabaret heat is on Tuesday (12 Mar) and it’s in Limehouse at The Old Ship.

Glitter in the Darkroom

If you want something different and tons of fun on a Friday night then we recommend a trip to Glitter in the Darkroom. It’s on from 7pm to 1am at Protocol in Fire, Lightbox entrance and features amazing commercial pop and a stack of glittery surprises.

Cabaret at the Old Ship

It’s all kicking off down in Limehouse, just look at the cabaret line-up they have this weekend. Saturday (9 Mar) it’s the Iron Bru poster girl, Mary Mac and on Sunday the always classy (she told us to say that) Sophie.

Big and Cuddly at Sailors 

Also in Limehouse is the quite marvellous Sailors Sauna and if you want something fun of the bear persuasion at the beginning of the week, don’t forget that Mondays are Big & Cuddly. The venue is open from 11am to 11pm and we are told the ‘ship’s galley is open all day’.
