A crazy weekend at The Brewers

OK, so a crazy weekend being at The Two Brewers may not be news, but this one is most certainly another corker. It’s starts early on Thursday (11 Apr) with Charlie Hides in the guise of Lisa Q Jones with DJ Liam Chaplin and then on Friday there’s two of our favourite performers, X Factor winner, the mighty Sam Bailey in a live show plus there’s cabaret from Mary Mac. Saturday we get more cabaret from Lady Imelda and on Sunday it’s The Power of Four with Miss Jason, Myra DuBois, Mary and the one and only Sandra. We did say crazy remember.

Sink The Pink Sunday Service

This Sunday (14 Apr) the all-conquering Sink The Pink are taking over The Troxy in East London for a massive all day party called Sunday Service. From midday to 11pm this is described as ‘a brand new megawatt, queer one day party that will blow your heels off’. It’s going to be packed with 40 amazing performers and DJs and SO much more, as honestly only Sink The Pink can. Tickets are from £20 from bookings.kaboodle.co.uk, go ahead treat yourself!

Rupert Street re-opens

If you’ve missed it half as much as we have then you’ll be thrilled to hear that Rupert Street Bar will be re-opening this Friday (12 Apr). The covers will be off and all will be revealed after a refit and refurbishment of this mega swish and popular Soho bar. We will see you there.

Two nights of fun at The Yard Coventry

This weekend the team at The Yard in Coventry have not one, but two nights with special guest performers. Friday night is cabaret night and this week (12 Apr) it’s the hilarious Glitorus Girls, and on Saturday they welcome a genuine 24 carat pop star, in the dishy space of Simon Webbe from Blue performing solo and Blue hits. 

Old Ship laughs

There’s a couple of genuine cabaret greats this weekend at The Old Ship in Limehouse with the always hilarious Miss Jason on Saturday. And on Sunday, it’s the multi Boyz Award-winning Charlie Hides taking to the stage.

Leftfooters FC at Admiral Duncan

LGBT football team the Leftfooters FC play every Sunday afternoon in Regents Park, but this Saturday afternoon (13 Apr) you will be able to see the team in their rather splendid new kit at the Admiral Duncan. The guys are now sponsored by The Dunky and they will be unveiling the kit at the legendary Soho cabaret venue at 5pm. Come down say hello to the guys, and if you want to stick around there’s cabaret from Mary Mac, Heart & Soul and Son of a Tutu starting at 8pm.

Andy Bell in Queereteria TV

From this Wednesday, Andy Bell, from Erasure is starring in Queereteria TV at Above The Stag in Vauxhall. Based upon the album of the same name, Andy described this extraordinary show as, ‘behind the scenes on a post apocalypse TV show, that’s obsessed with the world’s last surviving celebrities.’ It’s on now until 28 April, tickets from abovethestag.com

Sweatbox is open now

We are loving the gorgeous new Sweatbox, that is now open again following it’s ‘Million Pound Makeover’. If you haven’t been yet, then we recommend a visit as soon as humanly possible, it’s really impressive and we guarantee you’ll have a good time.

This weekend the team at the Ku Group are saying goodbye and good luck to a much loved team member who is leaving. Yes, sadly due to exciting things happening in 2019 DJ Aaron aka cabaret icon Vicki Vivacious is hanging up the headphones and wigs at Ku. She will be saying goodbye on Friday (12 Apr) at Ku Leicester Square,so pop down and buy her a shot. Good luck Vicki from everyone at Boyz we will miss you. 

Your Halfway weekend

It’s another sizzling weekend ahead at Halfway II Heaven as the team pack in enough world-class cabaret acts to sink a ship. It starts on Friday (12 Apr) with Tanya Hyde and her screening of RuPaul, followed at 10pm by Charlie Hides. Saturday is packed with Mrs Moore, Rose Garden, Tanya and The Vixens, while Sunday is Miss Penny and guests. And on Monday treat yourself to the ‘little top of Halfway’, yes it’s #Joe at 8.30pm.

Room Service at Circa The Club

Room Service, Jodie Harsh’s world-spanning clubbing brand is returning to London and on Thursday 18 April (that’s the day before Good Friday, so not a school night) it’s taking over Circa The Club at Hungerford House on the Embankment. From 10pm to 5am it’s going to be packed with hot boys, amazing DJs, a massive party crowd and we are all invited.

There’s a hot new venue in town and we love it. CMYK is in Wimbledon, right next door to the theatre and really near the station. It’s a gorgeous venue with cabaret acts, DJs and a fun crowd open every day.

G&D treats 

Start the weekend as you mean to go on with Tanya Hyde this Thursday (11 Apr) at the Piano Bar at The George and Dragon in Greenwich. The rest of the weekend is also packed with treats including; Sandra, Mary Mac, The Duchess and Tanya again.

Cry Havoc at The Park Theatre

Cry Havoc is a new play by Tom Coash about the problems facing a gay couple living in modern Egypt. Based upon time the author spent in the country, it’s a thought-provoking piece that resonates and entertains, and when being LGBT+ in much of North Africa is not tolerated.
