 Drag Idol launch at Two Brewers

This Thursday (4 Apr) the great, the good and the brand new of the LGBT+ cabaret scene will be gathering at The Two Brewers for the official launch party of this year’s Drag Idol contest. Kicking off at 8.30pm not only do you get a room full of aspiring acts of every kind, venue managers and owners, but there’s also performances from 2016 winner Danny Beard and last year’s champ the really rather marvellous Felix Le Freak. John’s birthday at The Old Ship

We love a birthday bash and this Saturday (6 Apr) there’s going to be a mad one in Limehouse as guv’nor John celebrates his birthday and as if that wasn’t bonkers enough the cabaret is provided by the marvellous Dame Julie Paid… what could possibly go wrong!

Rupert Street makeover 

If you’ve already been in Soho this week then you may have noticed that Rupert Street Bar is closed… but don’t panic, it’s just for a makeover! The already gorgeous venue will be open again on Friday 12 April and we will see you there.

Goodbye Norma Jeane at Above The Stag

Goodbye Norma Jeane is running right now and until Saturday (6 Apr) in the Studio Theatre at Above The Stag in Vauxhall. It’s not actually about Marilyn Monroe, it’s the fascinating story of Jack Cole, the man behind some of Hollywood’s biggest leading ladies. Tickets at abovethestag.com

Light Lounge joins Into App

Light Lounge is the totally gorgeous cocktail bar located above Ku Leicester Square. As if it wasn’t cool and funky enough already, the team have now become the first independent LGBTQ+ business to join forces with Into App. In case you don’t know, Into is an exclusive application for agency-signed influencers whose members are the world‘s best models, bloggers, actors and celebrities – creating increased brand advocacy through organic social media content. Double fun at Sundowners

Weekends are always fun at the fabulous Sundowners in Margate, but this week there’s double the fun. It all kicks off on Friday (5 Apr) with their Burlesque Night hosted by Ruby Rouge and some very special guest performers. Plus on Saturday it’s none other than the Boyz Award-winning Vixens showing the seaside crowd why they were crowned Best Cabaret Act this year. 

Miss Marty in Coventry

Thank cabaret it’s Friday, especially if you’re in or near Coventry as it’s cabaret at The Yard. This Friday (5 Apr) it’s the return of hugely popular Miss Marty, for songs and lots of laughs.

Quiz at Duke of Welly

We love a good quiz and each and every Wednesday there’s a fantastic one at The Duke Of Wellington. Martha D’Arthur and Tospsie Redfern take it in turns to host Didn’t They Do Welly from 8pm and it’s always a huge laugh.

Positive Feast

We are big fans of the team at Positive East, they do brilliant work for people living with HIV in East London. One of the highlights of their year is Positive Feast a gala fundraising dinner which this year is on Thursday 20 June at Rich Mix on Bethnal Green Road, E1. CMYK in Wimbledon

CMYK is the brilliant new LGBT+ venue in Wimbledon, right next door to the Wimbledon Theatre. This weekend they have a host of gorgeous things including, cabaret from Ashley Fox and Miz Bambi and their lovely hostess Carmen Getit. Sweatbox opens soon

Perfection takes a while and the Boyz Award-winning Sweatbox sauna and gym will be re-opening next Monday (8 Apr). We’re gob-smacked at the new look. The White Swan

Delighted to be at Halfway

Honestly it’s always a delight at Halfway II Heaven, but this weekend even more so when US drag star Delighted Tobehere makes a welcome return to the Charing Cross venue on Friday (5 Apr) she’s on at 10pm and on Sunday she joins CK in the afternoon from 3.30pm. Plus Saturday and Sunday are packed with all the usual cabaret brilliance. Wahoo!

On The Rocks

If you live in or are planning a visit to Hastings we recommend that you include the gorgeous On The Rocks in your trip. This lovely venue has cabaret, live music and mega friendly staff, plus they will be hosting Drag Idol heats this year as well.

80s at Ye Old Rose & Crown
