Lola celebrates 30 years at The Two Brewers plus The RVT, Above The Stag, Ku, Beboyz and more

Treat yourself at The Brewers

It’s a busy busy weekend at The Two Brewers in Clapham, kicking off on Thursday (20 Jun) with Lola Lasagne’s 30th Anniversary Show featuring the lady herself plus Myra DuBois, Miss Jason and Mary Mac. On Friday you get big laughs from Titti La Camp and big tunes from the Backroom DJs, while on Saturday there’s cabaret from the one and only Charlie Hides and music from Demon and Chris Brogan. On Sunday at The Power of Four, Myra DuBois, and Sandra are joined by Marsha Mallow and West End star Vinegar Strokes  for cabaret shenanigans. 

Queer Walls: LGBTQ history at Eltham Palace

On Friday 21 June, English Heritage are holding their first Pride event at Eltham Palace in Greenwich. This after-hours event will explore the LGBTQ histories of this Tudor-palace-turned-1930s-millionaire’s-mansion that will include actors telling the true life stories of what it was like to be LGBTQ in the first half of the 20th Century. You will hear of the pioneering of transgender operations, watch a Noel Coward cabaret act, enjoy an all female choir, swing dance lessons in the great hall, a complimentary cocktail and much more. Bare at The Vaults

Opening this Friday (21 Jun) is Bare – A Pop Opera by Jon Hartmere and Damon Intrabartolo that was first performed in Hollywood in 2000. This electrifying contemporary rock/pop musical tells the story of a group of students at a Catholic boarding school as they grapple with issues of sexuality, identity and the future. Starring TV star Stacy Francis and West End regular Jo Napthine plus exciting newcomers Darragh Cowley and Daniel Mark Shand, the show runs until August and tickets are available from thevaults.london

The gang at Ku love a collaboration and they have now teamed up with sexy clothes brands Addicted and ES Male. You can expect to see those sexy bar boys  modelling some amazing new gear and working it like a catwalk! 

RVT’s bumper week

It’s another stunner ahead at The Royal Vauxhall Tavern kicking off on Thursday (20 Jun) with RVT vs The C Word, a fundraiser for Cancer is a Drag hosted by Cynthia Seaward that includes Meth, Rose Garden, Rhys’ Pieces and more. Friday starts with Smashing, which is Annabelszki’s one-woman feminist cabaret, and that’s followed by club fun at Beefmince. Saturday belongs to Duckie and on Sunday Charlie Hides at Sunday Social is followed by the Legs Eleven Gang Show with Bianca Del Rio. You also need to make a big note in your diary for Wednesday 26 June, because it’s Queer Question Time – Pride Edition.To coincide with Stonewall 50 and Pride in London they have a panel from across Pride movements of past and present to answer your questions and debate what Pride means. Crazy nights at Sundowners

This weekend there’s even more crazy than usual down by the seaside in Margate at Sundowners. On Friday (21 Jun) there’s the massive foam party so bring your speedos and then on Saturday there’s cabaret double bill of Drag With No Name and Mary Mac. Wahoo!

One of our favourite nights south of the river is Showtune Tuesday, this and every week at Ye Olde Rose & Crown in Greenwich with everything from The Sound of Music to Six and much more besides.

It’s all go at Halfway

Hold on to your handbag it’s another bumper weekend at the much loved cabaret bunker we call Halfway II Heaven. Deep breath here we go, Thursday (20 Jun) is Miss Penny, Friday Shania Pain and Mary Mac and on Saturday you get Mrs Moore, Rose Garden, Sum Ting Wong and The Vixens. Sunday is of course CK, and on Monday the lovely Woe Addams presents Full of Myself.

Panda Pop at The Welly

Thank pop it’s Friday… especially if you rock up to the Duke of Wellington where the queen of day-glow Ms Heidi Liscious will be hosting Panda Pop and spinning those hits at the Soho boozer this Friday night (21 Jun)

Cabaret at The Yard

There’s always fun and laughs to be had at The Yard in Coventry and if cabaret is your bag then Friday night is for you. This weekend (21 Jun) they have the hilarious Sandra  at the venue for filthy laughs and big songs – with a friendly crowd.

Nice night for a white wedding

On Saturday (22 Jun) the gorgeous Cybil will be playing the blushing bride at Cybil’s House: Weddings at The White Swan. The theme covers; white dresses, tuxes, mothers of the bride, drunk ex’s, that weird cousin your mum made you invite and more, we figure it will look like the episode of Friends with all the wedding dresses. You will get amazing performances, great DJs, a wedding party crowd and hopefully cake… Maybe that’s just us. Tickets at outsavvy.com

Enjoy the sun at Sailors 

Sailors is the East End sauna that’s located in Limehouse near both The White Swan and Old Ship. There’s always loads of fun to be had and they are the only sauna in London with a roof terrace… Wahoo! 

Coming up at Above The Stag

The team at the Boyz Award-winning Above The Stag Theatre have not one, but two amazing shows coming up for Pride season. Starting next Tuesday (25 Jun) is Boy Toy, a modern dance show inspired by the classic ballet Coppélia in the studio space. Opening the following week in the main room, on Wednesday 3 July is the revival of Closer to Heaven, the musical written by Jonathan Harvey and The Pet Shop Boys. Tickets for both are on sale at abovethestag.com

Billy’s at Pride

Pride in London have just confirmed that the amazing Billy Porter will be joining the line-up in Trafalgar Square on Saturday 6 July. Check Prideinlondon.org for more acts and events happening before in the Pride Festival. 

Top of the Pops at The Victoria 

This Saturday (22 Jun) Pixie and her team at The Victoria  in Walthamstow will be digging out all the hits at their Top of the Pops theme night with the brilliant DJ Matt.
