The award-winning Brighton Pride is back in Preston Park on the first weekend of August, starring a huge line up of live acts including the one and only Kylie Minogue plus Jessie J, Grace Jones, Clean Bandit, Fleur East and scores of drag queens and DJs. There’s loads more happening besides the Main Stage roster too – here’s what else is on offer as well as how to buy those all-important advance tickets.
Brighton Pride starts with the Community Parade from the seafront on Saturday and is then made up of two main events: Pride in the Park on Saturday 3 August; and the LoveBN1 Fest on Sunday 4 August. Both are huge events with dance tents, countless bars and food stalls, fairground rides, games and the iconic main stage.
The Pride in the Park 2019 line up is headlined by Aussie superstar and long time friend of the gays, Kylie Minogue, who’ll be taking to the main stage with a full world-class 90 minute show.
That same day you’ll also see Clean Bandit, Fleur East, Bjorn Again, Prancing Elites, Zak Abel, Rina Sawayama and Alice Chater.
Away from the main stage you’re treated to the He She They Dance Big Top, the Brut Men’s Tent, the Diva Girl’s World area, the Queertown Stage and the BAME Stage hosted by The Cocoa Butter Club.
Another iconic cornerstone of Brighton Pride is the Legends Cabaret Tent – quite literally a legendary annual confederacy of cabaret from all over the UK organised by the fabulous Lola Lasagne. The final line up will be released in a few weeks but it’s always a who’s who of the finest drag the UK has to offer.
The following day, the LoveBN1Fest will celebrate everything Brighton and Hove has to offer and bring its communities and rainbow families together for an afternoon of fun in the park.
Jessie J and Grace Jones headline a main stage of acts such as Rak Su, House Gospel Choir and Guilty Pleasures, while The Glory’s Jonny Woo and John Sizzle introduce LipSync1000, Man Up and The Big Gay Songbook to the masses. Plus there’s also The Circus Project, Boogaloo Bingo and loads more.
