On Friday 21st June, the magnificent English Heritage site of Eltham Palace and Gardens played host to a rather splendid and hugely refined evening of wonderful and eclectic talent hosted by Tom Read Wilson. Performances featured the choir Gin and Harmonics, Nancy Hitzig from Swing Sister Swing, David Shrubsole and Simon Green whose renditions of Noel Coward ditties and anecdotes seemed extremely fitting in the grandeur of the venue. Eltham Palace was designed by noteworthy architects John Seely and Paul Paget who were partners in both business and life. With the mood enhancing cocktails served by Ben’s House this all added to a wonderful summer’s evening in a venue that was so fit for purpose. A glorious evening! With future events in the planning stages – including queer tours of Ranger’s House in Blackheath in the New Year, check out The English Heritage website for future events. The team at English Heritage were responsible for the planning of the evening at Eltham Palace and also marched at Pride in London for the first time ever as part of the Museums Pride London Network of GLAMs (Galleries, Libraries, Archives and Museums), which was amazing fun!
