Since Circa The Club opened last year it has been pushing the boundaries of London clubbing with amazing DJs, performers and much more, but for this Bank Holiday weekend they are literally pushing the boat out, with an actual boat trip on the Thames on Saturday (24 Aug). Dave Cross spoke to General Manager Nieko and said, ‘Hello sailor!’
Hey Nieko, how is life at Circa?
Hello there Boyz. Life is good thank you. Well, actually it’s incredible. We’ve had a non-stop few months across the Circa venues, most of all at Circa The Club where we’ve been working with a host of promoters, DJs and performers in bringing you non-stop events that the scene deserve – all with that Circa touch, y’all know we can throw a party.
So the big news is the boat party… let’s get this right you’ve hired an actual boat and are going cruising down the Thames on Saturday of the coming Bank Holiday weekend?
Haha, yes! It took a lot to keep this one secret. We wanted to have an end of summer blow-out and thought, what hasn’t happened for a while? It’s an actual boat holding 250 of us gays, that departs right from Embankment Pier, which is opposite Circa The Club, and will cruise down the River Thames for four whole hours of socialising, partying, and entertainment.
What can we expect on the boat?
Nothing is a Circa event without the Circa DJs, so that’s who we’ve got. Get ready for sets from DJs Jonathan Bestley, Sam Londt and James Lee Dawkins, who will be playing across two decks (that’s the word, right?). Plus, we’ve got our very own Circa go-gos acting as your hosts: Liam Hargz and James Tomlinson. They will be on hand to ensure your time is… palatial. Don’t worry, we’ll be feeding you with a BBQ too as well quenching your thirst over two bars, and catching up with you on the outside deck.
What are the times and details?
It’s Saturday 24 August and the boat will depart at 6pm sharp from Embankment Pier, so we will be having a ‘checking in’ hour at
Hungerford House (our sibling venue on Embankment) from 5pm – where we’ll be enjoying welcome cocktails, so please make sure you get there in plenty of time, because time and tide and the Circa boat waits for no man. Tickets are £25 and available in any Circa venues, or at outsavvy.co.uk
And the ticket includes Saturday night at Circa The Club too?
It certainly does. As long as you enter the club by 10:30pm, you will gain entry to the club for the night too, where we party till 4am for our weekly Saturday party, lucky you!
What else can we expect at The Club and The Bar?
We now have a series of amazing nights every week of the year at The Club. Friday Vibes is pure queer fun with host Brandy X and the freshest fierest performers and DJs. Saturdays are Lucky You which is us teaming up with Jodie Harsh and JJ Clark every single Saturday night with brilliant DJs and hot go-gos. And at Circa Soho we are open every day from 1pm with everything you need, Happy Hour until 7pm, eye candy and those fantastic DJs, Sam Londt, James Lee Dawkins, Jonathan Bestley, Addison, Adam Turner, Attack Attack Attack, Suki Rae!
And finally, the most important question… what outfit will you be rocking on the boat?
Oh Dave… you KNOW I can’t say that. But let me tell you this, the outfit won’t be the
only surprise.
