RVT Volcano, Eurofest and more

There’s an eruption of talent at The Royal Vauxhall Tavern this week starting off on Thursday (8 Aug) with Volcano the new show from the brilliant Haus of Royalz. This exciting cabaret showcase will be hosted by Veronica Montenegro with a host of acts including FRUIT, Rhys’ Pieces, Bae Sharam, Frankly Desire and more. Friday is Eurofest with a special live PA from Swedish Eurovision star Anna Bergendahl plus DJs Don Grant, John Hagley and Dave Simmons while Saturday is the domain of the mighty Duckie. Sunday social this week features Lisa Q Jones, also known as the hairdresser from Hell/Charlie Hides plus DJs Simon Le Vans and Phil Marriott. Details and tickets at vauxhalltavern.com

XXL Bear, Chubs and Cubs

This Saturday (10 Aug) Pulse will be even furrier than usual as it’s XXL Bears, Chubs and Cubs … cue us getting out a net to go on a bear cub hunt. The dancefloors will be jumping with music from Alex Logan and Paul Morrell in the main room and David Robson and Joe Egg in the Fur Lounge.

Your Brewers bumper package

It’s all go this weekend at The Two Brewers starting on Thursday when Jason Sutton, aka Miss Jason, gives a one off performance of the play Morning Glory at 7pm before taking it to Edinburgh. Friday night you get the crazy Drag With No Name and on Saturday the hilarious Lola Lasagne. On Sunday the small Scottish one, i.e. Mary Mac is celebrating three years at the venue alongside The Vivienne, Miss Jason and Sandra.  

Ku Bar Happy Hour

All the gorgeous Ku venues have amazing Happy Hours and right now at Ku Leicester Square on Lisle Street you can get summer spritzers daily 4pm – 7pm including Aperol Spritz, Melon Spritz and Pink Gin Spritz. Wahoo… see you there. 

Halfway delights 

The delights come thick and fast this weekend at Halfway II Heaven starting on Friday (9 Aug) with drag superstar Charlie Hides at 8pm and West End star Vinegar Strokes at 10pm. On Saturday it’s Rose Garden from 4pm, Tanya Hyde at 8pm and The Vixens at 10pm with DJ Justin Swift while Crystal and Kelly bring the weekend home at CK Sunday.

Refresh at the Duke of Welly 

The Duke of Wellington is in the heart of Soho and it is the ideal place to chill after work or to start your night out at. Fridays are always busy as they have the day-glow princess, Heidi Liscious on the decks at Panda Pop, resulting in a great Friday night out.

Margate Pride at Sundowners 

This Saturday (10 Aug) is Margate Pride and apart from the Parade and Festival, the chaps at Sundowners have a fantastic line-up for us. They are hosting the Cabaret Stage on the Terrace and they have an after-party in the club. Acts include Danny Beard, Baga Chipz, Sandra, Son of a Tutu, The Vixens, Sum Ting Wong and many more. 

Sink The Pink at Dreamland with Mel C

Dreamland is the gorgeous amusement park on the seafront and they are also hosting special events for Margate Pride this Saturday (10 Aug). Top of the bill is the arrival of Sink The Pink with an amazing line-up of outrageous performers all led by the one and only Mel C… yep Sporty Spice herself. Late nights at Rupert Street

Rupert Street has recently re-opened after a major refit and to be honest it’s gorgeous, with a cool late night disco vibe. And to fit in with that, every Saturday in August the Soho bar is open late and they have DJ Tasty Tim. Fabulous. 

Charlie Hides at The Old Ship

This Saturday (10 Aug) get yourself to The Old Ship where cabaret royalty in the shape of Charlie Hides will be stepping on to the Limehouse stage. On Sunday they welcome back another favourite at the venue, Tiffaney Wells. 

Recon Cabaret at The RVT

Next Wednesday (14 Aug) it’s the next Recon Fetish at The RVT, hosted by Baby Lame with games and performances from some of London’s top cabaret performers each with a unique twist and different take on fetish. It’s just a tenner on the door and always a brilliant night. 

Kamp it up at The White Swan

The team at The White Swan in Limehouse know a thing or two about camp and this Saturday (10 Aug) they take it to the next level with Kamp Klub with the brilliant Miss Prince on the decks. Camp.

Harry Poppers and the Chamber of Sequins

Our favourite boy Wizard is back… no, not that one, we mean Harry Poppers and his chums at The Two Brewers. From next Wednesday (14 Aug) you can experience this new adventure, The Chamber of Sequins from the Boyz Award-winning Two Box Productions for three nights only. Circa The Club Boat Party 

The gang from Circa The Club are getting all nautical on our arses as they are taking us cruising on the August Bank Holiday weekend… on an actual boat… on the Thames. On Saturday 24 August, the whole crew will be hopping on a boat from Embankment Pier (opposite The Club), complete with dancefloors, two bars, a BBQ on the outside terrace, and music from Jonathan Bestley, Sam Londt and James Lee Dawkins. It sets sail at 6pm and you get to see all the iconic river sights and end up back at Circa The Club where the party continues.
