A Royal week ahead 

There’s another cracker of a week ahead at The Royal Vauxhall Tavern starting on Thursday (26 Sep) with Butch.Please! A night for lesbians and their friends of all genders with live shows and DJs. Friday night is when Push The Button say ‘I Will Always Love You’ as they celebrate all things Whitney and on Saturday the all-powerful Duckie are back with Readers Wifes, Amy Lamé, Jay Cloth and guests Queen Mojo, Felix La Freak and Bob’s Funk O Mart. At Sunday Social, be warned the huge multi media star that is Myra DuBois is back and she means business alongside DJs Simon Le Vans and Phill Marriott. The rest of the week includes Big Bingo on Monday, Bar Wotever on Tuesday, and Kings of Clubs on Wednesday with King Frankie Sinatra.  

Ku Drag lunches this Sunday

This Sunday night (29 Sep) is the launch of hot new party, Ku Drag where host and Boyz Award-winning DJ Lady Lloyd will be saying ‘Man I feel like a Woman’ from 8pm and she’s joined by special guests Sum Ting Wong from Drag Race UK and the gorgeous Honey Foxxx. Entry is free and there’s some amazing drinks deals too, we recommend the salted caramel shots, three for £12. ‘Let’s go girls.’

 

Cabaret at The Two Brewers 

Here at Boyz Towers we tcall The Two Brewers the Clapham Cabaret mothership and when you see this week’s line-up you’ll know why. Thursday (26 Sep) kicks off with the always perfect Tanya Hyde, on Friday, brace yourselves it’s Lola Lasagne and on Saturday RuPaul Drag Race UK star The Vivienne is back. On Sunday it’s The Power of Four with Miss Jason, Myra DuBois, Mary Mac and Sandra keeping you on your toes. Monday is bingo with Mrs Moore and don’t forget next Thursday is the double whammy of Drag Race UK screening at 8pm and Sandra This is Your Life at 9pm. Tickets from the2brewers.com 

 

 

There’s a warm welcome at The Duke of Welly 

The Duke of Wellington is the gay boozer in the heart of Soho that’s always packed with a fun crowd and mega friendly staff. Plus it’s not just about the cold beers and hot guys, on a Tuesday you can play bingo with Sheila Simmonds, every Wednesday there’s a fantastic quiz night with either Martha D’Arthur or Topsie Redfern and keep an eye out at weekends for DJs such as Holestar, David Robson and Heidi Liscious rocking the decks.

Three acts at The Old Ship

This weekend there’s there cabaret treats on offer down in Limehouse at The Old Ship starting on Friday (27 Sep) with the bonkers Lady Imelda. Saturday it’s genuine cabaret legend Dave Lynn and on Sunday, former Drag Idol champion Tracy La Bouche will be wowing the crowd. 

A Velvet opening at Above The Stag

Next Wednesday (2 Oct) is the opening night of Velvet at Above The Stag in Vauxhall, written by and starring  Tom Ratcliffe it tells the story of a young actor faced with a moral dilemma. Plus don’t forget showing now in the main theatre is Now & Then, the beautiful musical that tells the story of a gay couple over 40 years. Take a trip to the London Hotel 

There’s always fun to be found down in Southampton at The London Hotel and this weekend they have Friday Frolics with cabaret from LoUis CYfer, Guilty Pleasures on Saturday with DJ Claire plus a show from Eva Iglesias and on Sunday there’s a double bill of Tanya Hyde and Davina Sparkle. 

Halfway is always a knockout

Right now everyone at Halfway II Heaven is gripped by It’s a Knockout the drag talent contest that each week sets different tasks and themes and is hosted by Bette Rinse every Tuesday. This week (1 Oct) is round four and the grand final is Tuesday 8 October. But don’t forget there’s loads more on offer at Halfway, this weekend alone you get Lady Imelda and Vileda Moppe on Friday (27 Oct), Mary Mac, Rose Garden, Tanya Hyde and The Vixens on Saturday and, of course Crystal and Kelly, aka CK on Sunday… phew! 

Boy George Experience at Sundowners 

This weekend there’s two fabulous events at Sundowners in Margate starting on Friday (27 Sep) with their Open Drag night, when you are invited to show off your skills, hosted by Victoria Carriage. On Saturday they welcome the award-winning Boy George Experience to the stage at 11pm for songs and laughs. 

Hard Up Mondays at Sweatbox

Young man, if you’ve overspent a tad at the weekend, then don’t worry the team at Sweatbox are here to help. Every Monday it’s free entry to the West End gym and sauna to guys 25 and under if you have valid i.d. Sounds like a plan to us. 

Your weekend at Circa The Club

Circa the Club is the state of the art super venue located by Embankment Station and every weekend they will rock your world. This Friday (27 Sep) is Playground with super hot DJ Matt Bogard and on Saturday it’s Power House complete with those jaw-dropping go-go boys. And, next Thursday (3 Oct) they are launching a new night, We Love Thursdays that will start with a screening of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK and continue with pop and commercial R&B until 3am. 

The Sound of Musicals in Greenwich 

Ye Old Rose & Crown in Greenwich has many popular nights, but our favourite is Showtune Tuesdays from 7pm each and every Tuesday. From The Sound of Music to Six, from Hello Dolly to The Little Mermaid via Hamilton it’s all here. 

Drag Race UK screenings 

We’re pretty sure you all know this by now, but next Thursday (3 Oct) is the launch date for series one of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK featuring 10 queens from all over the country. You can watch it at home on BBC3, but where’s the fun in that? Why not head to your favourite venue to watch it in a bar with a drink in your hand… From 8pm you can see it at The Two Brewers, Ku Bar, Halfway II Heaven, Circa The Club and more. Plus don’t forget at The RVT on the same night it’s the Anti-Drag Race Revolution hosted by Chyio with a gorgeous selection of female and non binary cabaret acts.
