Jimmy’s Birthday at The Brewers

It’s a very busy weekend at The Two Brewers as they celebrate Guv’nor Jimmy’s Birthday on Sunday. Before that you can see the Boyz Award-winning Poppycock on Thursday (12 Sep) while on Friday there’s a special early show from Muyta ex Sugababes plus cabaret from Mary Mac and on Saturday the always fabulous Miss Penny. Sunday is The Greatest Showman, aka Jimmy Smith’s birthday party with cabaret from Lola Lasagne, Miss Penny, Myra DuBois, Miss Jason, Mary Mac, Sandra and Danny Beard. There’s Trashy Queens at The RVT

There’s a delicious buffet of treats on offer this weekend at The Royal Vauxhall Tavern starting on Thursday (12 Sep) when House of Burlesque present The Sex Ed Show, a satirical look at the teaching of LGBT+ issues. On Friday there’s two events staring early with cabaret duo Busty & Ginger and their new show Washed Up with guest star Dolly Trolly and that’s followed at 10pm by clubbing fun from Trashy Queen. DJs David Robson, Craig Jones and Lady Lloyd will be mixing up the modern pop plus there’s performances from Vinegar Strokes, TVTV and the gorgeous Danny Ash. Saturday is always and forever, Duckie with Readers Wifes, Jay Cloth, Amy Lamé and special guests Levantes Dance Theatre, Ja ja and Bibi and Max. Duke of Welly Birthday Bash 

Oliver and his team at The Duke of Wellington are celebrating 18 years of the Soho boozer being an LGBT+ venue all this week. The main bash is on Saturday (14 Sep) from 3pm when they welcome Lola Lasagne and Miss Penny for an afternoon and evening of birthday shenanigans, plus on Sunday afternoon it’s the retry of Lady Imelda and CJ, aka Glam Jam.

 

Explore the Light Lounge at Ku 

We all love Ku Leicester Square on Lisle Street, it’s packed with a super fun crowd, delicious drinks, amazing tunes and did we mention the boys! But don’t forget there’s also the gorgeous Light Lounge located above the main bar. There’s only two more XXL parties at Pulse, so make of the most of it wheel you can kids. This Saturday, the penultimate party is one of their most popular themes, Bears, Cubs and Chubs and you know that the Southbank super venue will be fit to bursting with hot bears, blokes and hotties. Wahoo! 

Cabaret at The London Hotel

If you’re down Southampton way then drop everything and head to The London Hotel, it’s a fab venue with different stuff on every night, This weekend alone they have Sally Vate at Friday Frolics (13 Sep), DJ Neil Sackley on Saturday and the wonderful Poppycock on Sunday. 

Now & Then at Above The Stag

Opening this week at Above The Stag in Vauxhall is Now and Then, a new musical by Ronnie Larsen. It’s an emotional rollercoaster of a show following the love story of two men over 40 years, with a country-flavoured score that could be straight out of Nashville. Tutu and Danny at The Old Ship

There’s two of our favourite acts on this weekend down in Limehouse at The Old Ship. On Saturday (14 Sep) it’s the brilliant Son of a Tutu and on Sunday fellow Drag Idol champion Danny Beard. 

Stars at Halfway 

There’s never a dull moment at Halfway II Heaven, especially now as we have started It’s a Knockout 2019, hosted by Bette Rinse, this is a cabaret talent show like no other each and every Tuesday into October. This weekend kicks off with both Topsie Redfern and Sandra on Friday (13 Sep) while Saturday features Mrs Moore at 4pm followed by Rose Garden and then Martha D’Arthur at 8pm with The Vixens at 10pm with DJ Justin Swift. On Sunday, CK are still on their holihobs, so we get Tanya Hyde and Heart & Soul. Plus on Monday it’s the amazing Vanity Nightmare and that brings us back to Tuesday and It’s a Knockout. 

Party at The White Swan 

Fridays and Saturday were made to party and every Friday DJ Aaran Bader is at The White Swan playing all the hits. Saturdays are just a tad camper, as it’s Kamp Klub with none other than Miss Prince on the decks at the Limehouse venue.

Torch Song at Turbine Theatre 

The Turbine Theatre is the brand new theatre venue located by the Battersea Power Station and right now you can see the classic comedy, Torch Song at this impressive new venue. Tickets from theturbinetheatre.co.uk 

Two Drag Idol winners at Sundowners

This Saturday (14 Sep) those party chaps down at Sundowners in Margate have not one, but two Drag Idol champions on the same night. Yep you can see this year’s winner, the brilliant Karla Bear plus the 2018 champ, the glorious Felix Le Freak, from 11pm. 

Sandra This is Your Life

Note the date in your diary, Thursday 3 October for something extra special happening immediately after the Brewers screening of episode one of Drag Race UK at the Clapham mega-venue. Sandra – This is Your Life is hosted by Boyz own Dave Cross and is a night celebrating Sandra’s long, long, long … long career. It will feature special guests Mrs Moore, Dave Lynn and Kelly Wilde, plus surprises along the way, and it’s raising money for Cancer Research. Tickets via the2Brewers.com.
