Bars, Clubs & Cabaret News: Halloween at The White Swan

They really love Halloween down at The White Swan in Limehouse and on Saturday 2 November they have one large party with two spooky pop themes from the gang at Pop Curious. In Room One it’s Britney’s Halloween Blackout and in Room Two it’s The Cher Witch Project. Both rooms will feature a spooky pop soundtrack with loads or Britney and Cher bangers, plus if you get there early you could grab a free Britney or Cher mask. Plus don’t forget all the regular and really rather fabulous nights at the White Swan, Thursdays with CJ’s Piano Bar, Fridays clubbing with DJ Aaran Badder and other Saturdays at Klub Kamp with Miss Prince. 

Halloween at Halfway 

If you need proof that Halloween is gay Christmas, just wait till you peek through Halfway II Heaven’s window and see it all decked out in spooky decor – they love a fright night at the Charing Cross venue. There’s going to be scary drag and frightening cabaret all over the Halloween week, with all their fantastic residents, but you might want to mark in blood, Monday 28 October when it’s Halloween Lip-Sync War with The Vixens and the day itself, Thursday 31st, when the screening of Drag Race UK is followed by Kevin Walsh and his Scaryoke. 

Fireworks at Sundowners 

Sundowners is the all singing, all dancing, all bonkers LGBT+ venue on the seafront in Margate in Kent. There’s big name drag acts there every weekend and on Friday 1 November it’s their Open Drag night hosted by Sir Vyx when you could be the star and the next day on Saturday it’s their big Firework Night party with cabaret from KY Kelly with more big names acts to come through November including Son of a Tutu (9th), Sum Ting Wong plus Drag With No Name (16th) and Sandra (23rd). 

Bingo and quizzing  mid-week at the Duke of Wellington

We love the fun weekends at The Duke Of Wellington, with amazing DJs such as David Robson, Holestar and Heidi Liscious, but they also serve up fun mid-week. Every Tuesday, Aussie shopping superstar Sheila Simmonds hosts her Busy Lady Bingo with ‘gorgeous prizes galore’… it says here. Plus every Wednesday it’s their Didn’t They Do Welly pub quiz, hosted by Martha D’Arthur or Topsie Redfern on rotation. 

Cabaret at the Old Ship

Saturday 26 October the team at The Old Ship will be going bats at their Halloween party with none other than Baga Chipz while Marsha Mallow is there the next day on Sunday. The first weekend in November sees Miss Jason on stage on Friday (1 Nov), Sandra on Saturday and the brilliant Mrs Moore bringing it home on Sunday (2 Nov).

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK at Rupert Street

Drag Race UK fever has gripped the nation, and what can be more fun than watching it in a gorgeously swish Soho bar with a cold drink in one hand surrounded by more screaming fans. The team at Rupert Street have joined in the excitement and you can now see it every Thursday at 8pm at their weekly viewing party. Plus don’t forget they have Happy Hour with great deals and hot DJs including Tasty Tim at the weekend.

Panto at ATS

Fun nights at The London Hotel 

The London Hotel is Southampton’s premier cabaret venue and there’s always something fun going on. Thursdays are karaoke with Cherry Liquor and on Fridays they have different big name drag queens and DJs each week. Saturdays are all about star DJs playing the hits and every weekend finishes with Sunday on the Podium with different guest drag stars. 

Regular nights at Ye Old Rose & Crown

If you’re down Greenwich way then we suggest a visit to see the team at Ye Olde Rose & Crown. There’s always a warm welcome and we recommend Fridays when it’s all 80s tunes and our favourite is Showtune Tuesdays when you get all the biggest and best songs from musicals. 

Anxy live music at O2 Academy 

The team from Anxy Music Management have put together a fantastic night of live music featuring a line up of LGBT+ performers. This night of live music is on Monday 25 November at the O2 Academy in Islington and features Laura Harding, LaMont, Phatt Matt, James Follett, Chasing Deer, S.Q.U.A.D Goals and more. Tickets are just £10 from ticketmaster.

Bake for The Food Chain

On Friday 15 November there’s a Baking themed drag fundraiser for The Food Chain at The RVT. Hosted by Mynxie, the show is on early in the slot before Beefmince from 7pm and will feature special performances from Son of a Tutu, Tracy La Bouche, Felix Le Freak, The Vixens, Broadway Baby and Dolly Trolley. Plus if you want to bring along your home bakes, you could become their ‘star baker’ for the night. Tickets at vauxhalltavern.com
