Every day of the week is special at Ku, but in December there’s two dates that are extra special even by their high standards and we asked the Boyz Award-winning host Stefanos to tell us all about World AIDS Day on Sunday 1st and Ku Group’s 24th Birthday on Saturday 7 December.
Ku World AIDS Day auction and Drag-a-thon for 56 Dean Street
Sunday 1 December, from 9pm
‘Our annual World AIDS Day auction will take place on Sunday 1st December at Ku Lisle Street and will be followed, for the first time, by a Drag-a-thon in Ku’s Klub. There will be 10 queens performing back to back from 9pm until extra late with hosts Lady Lloyd and Rebecca Tallon de Havilland. Drag performers include Holestar, Vanity von Glow, Honey Foxx, Herr, Meth, Tayce and more special guests to be announced.
We are delighted this year to be raising funds for a 56 Dean Street and Chelsea & Westminster trans-led health and wellbeing initiative called ‘Bootcamp’. Bootcamp is fronted by trans HIV activist Rebecca de Havilland and consists of a series of workshops designed to support and empower trans women and other trans femmes including advice on HIV prevention and living well with HIV.’
Ku Group 24th Birthday
Saturday 7 December, midday to 5am
‘It’s Ku’s 24th Birthday and as always we are so grateful for the support London and our beautiful LGBTQ+ community has given us all these years. We are celebrating with complimentary cake for everyone and a complimentary big toast of bubbles for everyone who will be in the venue of Ku Lisle Street. The celebrations and music will be all the way until 3am on the ground floor, 3am in our first floor Light Lounge and 5am in our lower ground Klub. Our venues in the heart of Soho will be open exxxtra late as well with both Liitle Ku and She Soho open until 3am. We cannot wait to celebrate our birthday with cake, drinks offers and eight DJs across our venues with everyone!’
