Choir of Man and 360 Allstars at London Wonderground at Earls Court: Press night review by Stephen Vowles

360 Allstars

I’ve been theatre critic for Boyz a very long time and seldom have I been moved to tears of pure enjoyment and exhilaration, but last night at the Underbelly London Wonderground that was precisely what happened. I was covering two shows starting with 360 Allstars, a dazzling, jaw-dropping troupe of skilled performers who were just mesmerizing to watch and who showcased the pure unadulterated dexterity of what the human male body is capable of.

Boasting a stellar international cast of elite athletes and artists including: the two-time world champion BMX Flatlander Peter Sore, two champion break-dancers Bboy Chris and Bboy Daz, internationally acclaimed basketball freestyler Trickstar and the world renowned Cyr wheel artist Josh Curtis.

Add to this a stunning live soundtrack delivered by Ball-Zee, the world champion and three-time UK champion beatboxer, alongside the award-winning master percussionist Mikey Sorbello, and with incredible video projections, 360 Allstars is as aurally exciting as it is visually astounding.

I cannot praise this enough as an evening of modern entertainment under the London Wonderground big top.

Choir of Man

The Choir of Man is in the now world famous upside down purple cow and these guys have it all – astounding harmonies, incredible moves and they are all as sexy as can possibly be. This is an hour of foot-stomping, joy-creating, goosebump hair-raising, high energy moments where it is clear you are watching an exceptionally well rehearsed troupe of guys who are currently enjoying huge runaway international status, and rightly so. Created by Nic Doodson and Nic Kay, these two know how to put on a show.

This is a  vocal extravaganza set in a working pub complete with beer taps and bar-stools, and presents a nine-strong, all-singing cast of world-class tap dancers, poets, instrumentalists and singers, to provide a musically stunning spin on a rich set-list of favourite pub anthems from sing-along classics to familiar rock ballads, and with very witty dialogue linking the songs. Truly original with great character observations and smooth rhythmic delivery of songs that were as cool and smooth as silky chocolate. A stunning and indisputably joyous night of entertainment.
