Halfway II Heaven is the little cabaret venue that could. It’s won multiple awards and is loved as much, if not more than any other in London. There’s always something special on and for the bank holiday weekend it’s all go go go. Here’s what’s in the diary.
First On Friday
Friday 25 August, midday to 3am
Kick start your bank holiday weekend with a dynamic double bill as Lola Lasagne struts her stuff at 8pm followed by Baga Chipz at 10pm. You have been warned.
Saturdays at Halfway
Saturday 26 August, midday – 3am
If it’s Saturday it must be Rose Garden and she won’t be taking any prisoners from 5pm with her Swap Shop and occasional lip-sync battles and special guests. Later on it will be Kelly Wilde who’s belting out the hits at 10pm.
NLTSG fundraiser
Sunday 27 August, midday – late
With CK away there’s a very special charity bash on Sunday when the team are raising cash for National Long Term Survivors Group for people living with HIV and AIDS. The fun starts at 4pm with Sandra and Miss Jason followed at 8pm by Heart and Soul. Miss Jason told us: “I love performing at Halfway, it’s literally all the way to Heaven for me. It has the feel of a proper old fashioned gay bar and the crowd are always so playful. In fact I often pull there, and I am in fact prepared to go all the way myself this Sunday.”
Backing the Stars Karaoke
Bank Holiday Monday 28 August, midday to late
What better way to spend Bank Holiday Monday evening from 8pm than by watching people murder your favourite songs under the watchful gaze of London’s most popular host Kevin Walsh.
Entry is free.
Halfway II Heaven, 7 Duncannon Street, WC2.
