Bear of Thrones at XXL’s 17th Birthday

Pulse may look not look much like a fantasy world from the outside but next Saturday (30 Sept) it will contain the whole of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros including giants, ravens, dire-wolves, dragons, the Night’s Watch and zombie bears. It will all be watched over by the Night King himself aka Mark Ames. In case you haven’t worked it out XXL are going all Game of Thrones for their 17th Birthday bash. Not only do you get a club packed with the sauciest fantasy tale ever but a host of brilliant DJs including Paul Morrell, Bobby Blanco, Alex Logan, Joe Egg, John Logan and David Robson. David Hoyle’s October Revolution at the RVT

It’s one hundred years since the October Revolution and David Hoyle marks this by returning to the RVT with five limitless Thursday evenings, starting on Thursday 5 October, packed with hilarity, protest and revolt. These five shows will be combining post-drag, post-gender with the best in cabaret at the edge and sounds to grind the old regime beneath a stiletto heel. Tickets from vauxhalltavern.com.

It’s a Knockout at Halfway 

Every Tuesday in October you get to see some of the most exciting new cabaret talent around fighting it out to stay alive… OK maybe that’s a tad dramatic but it’s not far off. It’s a Knockout hosted by Bette Rinse at Halfway II Heaven is a total hoot every week and features some great contestants this year.

Kate Bush night at the Victoria

This Saturday (23 Sept) Pixie and the gang at the Victoria in Walthamstow will be stepping into The Sensual World as they celebrate This Woman’s Work, the music of national treasure Kate Bush with DJ Matt from 10pm.

Light After Dark

Light After Dark is a new exhibition that’s part of the National Trust’s Pride and Prejudice season. This show celebrates the past, present, and future of queer nightlife in London, whilst exploring the trends and topics that surround the club scene today through photography, film, fashion, artworks, writing, and public debate.
