Eating Out: Review of Baz and Fred at Flat Iron Square by Stephen Vowles

If you are a lover of pizza then Baz and Fred in Flat Iron Square will suit your tastes – and is at exceptional value for money for your pocket. This is production line pizza with pizzazz and via the Chadwick Oven – invented by Baz’s godfather – the quality is superb. The pizza is tasty, very moreish and satisfying.

Opting for the version topped with Parma ham, Portobello mushrooms and the richest San Marzano tomatoes with a very generous portion of  Mozzarella , this was a truly hands-on experience. I loved the fact that the oil had penetrated the thin base and added to the full flavour of the meal. With my server also responding to my request to go easy on the rocket, my pizza was complete and culminating in me enjoying a sincere taste sensation.

Baz and Fred’s reputation for a unique spin on traditional pizza is assured and the fact that this is their first permanent pizza kitchen is an awesome part of this indoor avenue of eateries. Baz and Fred combines the best qualities of ‘hip’ alfresco dining in one of London’s best places to eat.

Baz and Fred are open 6 days a week (closed on Mondays) at Arch 32, Flat Iron Square, 68 Union Street, London SE1 1SG . They are also available via Deliveroo. Check their website at bazfred.com
