Double panto fun from the RVT

We love the RVT pantos and this year those mad fools are putting it on in two different locations… oh yes they are! As well as the main shows at the Vauxhall venue itself, you can also see Goosed – starring Topsie Redfern as Kelly-Anne Con-Witch – in a special one-off performance at St Mary in the Castle in Hastings on Saturday 2 December. Tickets at stmaryinthecastle.co.uk

Henry Badenhorst

The Boyz team was very sorry to hear of the death at the weekend of Henry Badenhorst, the co-founder of dating site Gaydar along with his long term partner, the late Gary Frisch. The South African couple launched Gaydar in 1999 placing early adverts in Boyz. Later Henry launched brand spin-offs Gaydar Radio, Gaydar Girls and the Profile and Lo-Profile bars. Gary took his own life in London in 2007 and sadly this weekend’s press reports suggest Henry, who was 51, also killed himself in his home town of Johannesburg. The couple had been together for 15 years before they split up shortly before Gary’s death. Henry, a gentle, kind man, was heartbroken after Gary’s suicide. Gary was the technical whizz kid of Gaydar and Henry ran the marketing, finances and staffing. Henry was a strong supporter of LGBT charities and was often seen at events like NAT’s annual fundraiser. In more recent years he had taken up pottery. Henry will be sorely missed by many in the LGBT community. The Boyz team send our condolences to Henry’s family and friends.
