The 2018 awards season is in full flow. Dramas, snubs, tears and gorgeous frocks and that’s just here in the Boyz office! The annual Boyz Awards are the only place where you can have your say and tell the world who your favourites are on the LGBT+ scene. You can vote for clubs, bars, cabaret acts, DJs, bar staff, plays, films, Prides, charities and even pantos.
All you have to do is go to archive.boyz.co.uk and click on the link, you will find our lists of people and places who were featured in Boyz last year. You can vote in every category or in just a few, that’s up to you.
The awards are open now and will stay open until midnight on Tuesday 13 February. The winners will be announced on Thursday 22 February at a special party at the Two Brewers hosted by Myra DuBois and Lola lasagne and, yes, you are all invited.

Best Club or Club Night
XXL won last year, but is it the turn of Duckie or Beefmince this year or maybe something like Cybil’s House, Sink the Pink or R&She?
Best Bar
Ku Bar took the prize in 2017, but the Duke of Wellington, the Yard, Rupert Street or Retro Bar could steal that crown.
Best Cabaret Venue
This is one of the most fiercely fought categories with The Two Brewers, Halfway II Heaven and The RVT the top three last year, but will the George and Dragon, Admiral Duncan or Her Upstairs push through this year?
Best DJ
All DJs from clubs and bars – and playing all kinds of music are included in this award. Last year’s winner was Lady Lloyd, with those XXL and Brewers DJs snapping at her heels.
Best Cabaret Act
No category gets as much attention as this one. Charlie Hides has won it over the past two years but Mary Mac, Vicki Vivacious, DE Experience, Myra DuBois and Pam Ann were all so close. Who will literally snatch that crown?
Best New Cabaret
It’s a whole new list this year with an amazing and varied list of exciting talent from competitions like Drag Idol.
Best Club or Bar Host
The brilliant Jonny Woo knocked Chrissy Darling into second place last year but will someone else grab the title this year?
Best Bar Staff
We’ve changed this award this year and now it’s your chance to tell the world whose bar staff are the best in every way possible.
Best Pride or festival
For the past few years Pride in London and Brighton Pride have been battling it out but there’s loads more to vote for too including the new Isle of Wight Pride or maybe it’s the turn of XXL’s Bear Pride or Student Pride?
Boyz Awards 2018 Party
Get out that party frock because everyone is invited to our Boyz Awards 2018 party at the Two Brewers on Thursday 22 February. This is where the great and the good find out if they’ve won and it’s all hosted by our very own dynamic duo of Myra DuBois and Lola Lasagne plus there will be a performance by Drag Idol 2017 winner Tracy Barlow. Make a date in your diary and see you there!
