Ruggercub is one of the biggest nights in the Two Brewers’ monthly calendar and this month the team host their annual Steelers Next Top Model and welcome sexy club brand Meat to the backroom bar for a night of beefy beats. Here, the reigning Next Top Model champ Michael Schuddinck and Meat promoter Adrian Lourie explains more.

Hi Michael, so what happens at the Steelers Next Top Model?
Eight handsome rugby lads of the King’s Cross Steelers will be going head to head in our annual competition. There will be three rounds where charisma, personality and talent will be tested.
Three judges will be deciding who will win the title as Steelers Next Top Model 2018, which includes Son of a Tutu (Drag Idol judge and diva), Jay Worthy (creative extraordinaire) and myself (Steelers Next Top Model 2017 winner). The whole night will be hosted in the backroom of the Two Brewers in Clapham by Chris and Toby, who I have been organising this amazing night with. It is basically a good night out, with some rugby boys giving it their all and something you just don’t want to miss!
What kind of guys can we expect?
We have eight total different types of guy, who we scouted. We wanted diversity in body types and personalities. We have twinks, jocks, bears, muscular types. But, they all are rugby players, and this is a good portrayal to show to anybody who wants to join the Steelers that it doesn’t matter who you are or look like. Passion for rugby comes from the gut, not how you look. That’s the message we want to give with this year’s edition. So expect a very diverse mix of guys.
What do they have to do on stage?
Obviously a model competition wouldn’t be a competition without some posing, fierce runway walks and sheer nudeness. But, personality and talent will be important as well, as there are three different rounds where the lads need to bring it all. The most important thing is that they have fun with it, and the crowd will cheer and support. As every year, the Two Brewers will be packed and this year, the competition have never been more fierce. The guys will need to give it them all on stage.
What does the winner get?
The winner will win the title and crown for the next year and be the Steelers’ Next Top Model 2018.

Hi Adrian, are you excited to be bringing Meat to Ruggercub at the Two Brewers?
So excited! We’re a bit of a fan of the more chunky, hirsute fella. And don’t even get me started on rugby thighs! In fact we love them so much we did a special issue of meat featuring the Kings Cross Steelers. It was our biggest selling issue – no surprise there!
For those who have never tasted it, how would you describe the Meat experience?
It’s beery and beardy and sweaty and sexy. We have the best and most up-for-it crowd in London. It’s all about the music for us and we curate each night very carefully with the best DJs in town.
How did you evolve from a magazine into a hot club night?
The parties started as a launch for each new issue of the magazine, but have taken on a life of their own. We’re the only party in London that rotates monthly across three venues so there’s always something new and fresh. We’re in our seventh year of parties now, which is kinda incredible.
What are you bringing to Ruggercub?
The full meat boys experience! It’ll be all about the music of course and getting the lads dancing. Hopefully there will be a lot of sweating in out in the back room! We’ve never played the Two Brewers before so that’s exciting. It’s gunna be meaty!
