Scene news: Ku Bar, Two Brewers, Dunky Fundraisers and Her Upstairs

Ku’s extra late Easter weekend

Let’s be honest, it wouldn’t really be a bank holiday weekend without at least one trip to see Gary, Nieko, the DJs and of course those bar boys at the Ku venues. From Thursday (29 Mar) to Easter Sunday (1 Apr), Ku Leicester Square is open until 3am, Klub is open until a sexy 5am and Little Ku, aka Ku Soho, until 3am. There will be Easter treats for customers every night plus a host of hot DJs including the Sexshooters, Pablo, Rodrigo, Kerol, Raul, Flaviano, our favourite bunny boy Nieko and more. Plus we suspect the bar boys will be wearing bunny ears, fluffy tails and not much more. Wahoo!

Doctor Whosical at the Brewers

Next week there will be a familiar whirring noise mixed with some hit songs as the Tardis materialises in Clapham for Doctor Whosical at the Two Brewers. This all-singing, all-dancing adventure in time and space is brought to Earth by the multi Boyz Award-winning Two Box Productions and features a galactic cast playing characters drawn from all of time and space. It’s on from Thursday (5 Apr) and tickets are on sale now at outsavvy.com

Fundraising at the Dunky

The team at the Admiral Duncan in Soho are doing their bit for two amazing charities this Easter starting on Saturday (31 Mar) by collecting cash for The Food Chain with the help of Son of a Tutu, Miss Penny, Silver Summers, Nancy Clench, Tanya Hyde and Vanity Von Glow. On Easter Sunday they are shaking their moneymakers for Hate Crime Charity with Kara Van Park, Baga Chipz, Cookie Monstar, Vanity Nightmare and Minnie Diamond, so come down and make a donation and enjoy the shows.

Easter at Her Upstairs

George, Meth and #BoyfriendJoe have a packed Easter weekend for us at Her Upstairs, Camden’s gorgeous queer hotspot. Highlights include Her Upstairs’ Finest on Thursday (29 Mar) with Meth, Lol Brow, Cheryl Hole and more. On Good Friday you can celebrate Celine Dion’s birthday at It’s All Coming Back to Us Now from 8pm with Vanity Von Glow, Sadie Sinner, Herr and more. Plus there’s amazing events on Saturday, Sunday and NADC on Monday.

RIP Peter Jay from the London Gay Big Band

Everyone at Boyz was saddened to hear of the untimely death of Peter Jay of the London Gay Big Band. Peter was a founding member of the group and a former musical director. He played with the band at the Two Brewers many times, on the main stage at Pride in London and was on Britain’s Got Talent when they appeared in the semi final with La Voix. We send our love and thoughts to Peter’s family and friends.
