Seven Days

Seven Days: The RVT, XXL, Ruthless The Musical, Halfway and more

The DE at the RVT

Prepare to gird your loins this weekend (15 Apr) when the one and only DE Experience will be back where she belongs at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern for Sunday Social. Edna will be bringing the big loud laughs and her beautiful voice will lead The RVT choir in some gorgeous sing-alongs while those cheeky DJs, including Simon Le Vans, Liam Chaplin and Sean Sirrs, deliver the tuneage!

Cabaret at the Brewers

This weekend at the Two Brewers the fun kicks off in sizzling form on Thursday (12 Apr) with cabaret from Rose Garden and on Friday there’s a screening of the latest RuPaul’s Drag Race episode followed by the fabulous Miss Penny. On Saturday it’s the turn of the tartan tart, Miss Mary Mac, and she’s back again on Sunday with those other kittens of mirth Miss Jason and Sandra for The Power of Three.

Ruthless people

Ruthless – The Musical is the malicious and delicious musical about a talented young girl and the ruthless woman around her. All the characters are female including the agent, played with gusto by Dancing on Ice’s own Jason Gardiner in full and quite glamorous drag. It’s on at the Arts Theatre, West End. Get your tickets at ruthlessthemusical.com.

Party hard in Portsmouth

Hampshire Boulevard, Portsmouth’s only gay venue, is open seven days a week, but it’s no surprise that the venue kicks off good and proper come the weekend. Expect CO2 and confetti cannons, pyrotechnics, drag hosts and the south coast’s hottest DJs on rotation.

XXL Rugby

If the thought of being stuck in the middle of a scrum of beefy bears in tight white sorts gets you all moist then join the queue and we’ll see you at Pulse this Saturday (14 Apr) for XXL Rugby. It will be  sweaty bloke central and the music will be on the sexy side too as Paul Morrell and Alex Logan rock the main room while Joe Egg and David Robson mix up the pop, R&B and some classics in the Fur Lounge.

Saturdays at Halfways

Saturdays at Halfway II Heaven are always a tad bonkers and this weekend (14 Apr) we suspect will be no different. It all starts at 3pm when showbiz royalty Mrs Moore unleashes the voice of a thousand fags followed at 5pm by the sedate and calm Rose Garden. The night reaches a dizzy – and we do mean dizzy – climax at 10pm when The Vixens join DJ Justin Swift for some girl band hotness.

Pride’s Got Talent semi-final

This Thursday (12 Apr) it’s the second Pride’s Got Talent cabaret semi-final at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern. Hosted by the lovely Michael Twaits, this exciting night will feature lots of unique and different new  talent.

Snow White and the 7 Poofs

Snow White and the 7 Poofs is back and now it stars Drag Idol champ and West End star Vileda Moppe. Boyz readers can ‘buy one ticket and get another free’ for the 7.30pm show this Thursday, and 4pm shows this Saturday and Sunday. Book your tickets now at ticketsource.co.uk

The Victoria’s Drag Idol heat one

It’s that time of year kids: Drag Idol is here and the first London venue off the ground with its heats is The Victoria in Walthamstow this Tuesday (17 Apr). Hosted by Victoria Sponge, this will be a fun night and if you want to enter go to dragidoluk.co.uk

We love The Xchange

Attitude-free club The Xchange in Bournemouth is one of the longest running LGBT venues on the south coast and offers some of the cheapest drinks there too. With karaoke, drag hosts and DJs entertaining the crowds throughout the week, it’s one of our favourite dancing dens. Find it at 3-4 The Triangle, West Cliff.
