Drag Idol Reporter: First heats at Quay Pride in Great Yarmouth, Kings Arms in Swansea, OMG in Plymouth and Victoria in Walthamstow

Get ready to ‘start your engines’ as this week the first heats of Drag Idol UK 2018 due to start in four venues with more to follow. Drag Idol is the UK’s biggest cabaret talent contest where every kind of cabaret act is welcome to compete. Previous winners include, Danny beard, La Voix, Vileda Moppe, Son of A Tutu, LoUis CYfer, Tanya Hyde, Baga Chipz, last year’s winner Tracy Barlow and more plus this year it’s organised by CK. Here’s the details of the first venues to open their 2018 accounts.

Quay Pride, Great Yarmouth 

Friday 13 April at 10pm

Quay Pride is the mega popular cabaret bar in Great Yarmouth that opens plays host to some the scene’s biggest acts and they have this years very first Drag Idol heat . Their Drag Idol heats will be at 10pm on Fridays, and one Saturday, their host will be Eva Jenna-Talia and Cosmic will be on hand as a judge and to perform.

Kings Arms, Swansea 

Sunday 15 April at 7pm

The Kings Arms in Swansea makes it’s Drag Idol debut this Sunday and all the heats will be on Sundays at 7pm and will be loads of fun each and every week.

OMG, Plymouth 

Sunday 15 April, at 9.30pm

This year there’s a number of OMG venues in Drag Idol and Plymouth open their score card this Sunday at 9.30pm. All their heats will be hosted by local girl Mary Hinge.

11a The Parade, Plymouth

The Victoria, Walthamstow 

Tuesday 17 April at 9pm

The Victoria in Walthamstow is the first London out of the traps this year. Hosted by the always brilliant Victoria Sponge, who was a semi finalist a couple of years ago, this will be the capital’s first chance to see this year’s new talent.
