Drag Idol Reporter: All the heats happening in the next 7 days!

And they’re off! Some of the 19 venues across the UK have started their 2018 heats and we’ve already seen some excellent talent racing out of those sequinned traps. Here’s a look at the first few heats and what’s happening in the next seven days.

This year’s first Drag Idol heat was at Quay Pride in Great Yarmouth last Friday hosted by Eva Jenna-Talia with scene star Cosmic as one of the judges. The contestants included Jane Seymour, Sweet Caroline, Sister Sharia Law and the Irish Drunken Nun, but it was Jane Seymour who won and goes on the heat final. Their next heat is this Friday (21 Apr) with special guest Stephanie Von Clitz.

On Sunday two other venues opened their accounts: the Kings Arms in Swansea, when Foxy Le Fay won the first heat, and OMG Plymouth, where it was Arina Fox who won the day.

This week more venues launch their heats, starting on Thursday (19 Apr) with Mary’s in Cardiff. On Sunday there’s a whole clutch bag of heats including: Central Station in Kings Cross, hosted by Victoria Sponge; Charles Street Tap in Brighton; OMG Bristol and OMG Liverpool, plus the venues above who launched last week. Tuesday (24 Apr) sees previous winners Halfway II Heaven begin its heats hosted by CK, and Sundowners in Margate launch also, plus The Victoria in Walthamstow hosts its second heat, and then the Two Brewers, also hosted by CK, launches on Wednesday (25 Apr).

If you want to enter Drag Idol 2018, there are still some spaces at some venues – just check out the website below.
